The count is ridiculous. What do people think about crowdfunding something like this?

You're probably right about the count. All I can say is that I would support this project if it were to be croudsourced. I am not sure that there would be enough interest but I would do my best to help.

While the FDD unit sadisfy a lot of uses, us lazy asses can't WHDLOAD using it.
I want it to act like an amiga 1200 with a permanently attached cdrom. |

Is pre-orders still calculated ? If Yes :
40 IDE, RAM and good idea will be standard PC internal floppy port (pin 34 Disc Change etc. for standar internal HD 1,44MB 3,5 drives), CPU (030 or better if better can be used) will be very good but propably expensive. Anyway i buy what will be. Good luck to this project ! |

50! I will take 10 units. Possibly 20. Would love to chip in with this as a amiga/cd32 fan.

Time to revive this thread!
The Indivision AGA Mk2 A4000/CD32 along with Kipper2k's HDMI adapter now make this an awesome machine for the living room, but I'd love to have an affordable IDE interface/Fast RAM add-on for this machine for doing WHDLoad and maybe even use Workbench on my TV! Maybe even an upgrade to a full 68020? That would be a bonus but not essential. Crowd funding seems like a good way to go. Considering the cost of Individual Computers' recently released accelerators, I would easily be willing to pay up to £200 for such a device. This would be a bargain compared to the bulky SX-1 (£270 on ebay right now!), I won't even mention the SX-32! Who's with me?! |

IDE and extra mem would be nice. My upcoming adapter will give rgb SCART and PC keyboard capabilities. Things could be looking up for this .

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...ewpost&t=72361 The connectors are available but no one wants to do a whole useful upgrade yet. I doubt Individual would do anything high end for the CD32. The best hope there would be a CD32 accelerator/expansion from Majsta using an fpga processor. It would probably use a Cyclone V giving compatible 68030 performance with a TG68 or 68060 performance if the Apollo core lives up to it's promises. An fpga FPU may even be possible. We would have to see if Majsta could keep the price around your target with some of the add-ons people would expect. I believe he is planning on a 1200 accelerator first but he probably could be bribed. The available connectors make it easier already. |

The problem with an A1200 accelerator is the connector, i can get them but they are $24 each plus other fees it would take for me to actually get them in my hand. It's a lot of money to front for these so without firm orders i would be reluctant to actually buy these. Majsta has expressed interest in making something for the A1200 and also the CD32. The easiest to probably do (based on connector availability and pricing) would be the CD32 as his board would not need a hard to find connector as my adapter will already have it on the board so PCB fabrication would be easy (circuit design , not . I would actually be happy with just an 8mb fastmem board for the time being. I intend on making my adapters constantly available so there is going to be no problem with availability of them. I will make available triple adapters for developers free so they can test their hardware on a CD32 without the need of opening it up. Their board would be able to sit on top of their CD32 so they can attach probes etc. If you are serious about making expansions let me know and i will help you out Last edited by kipper2k; 15 February 2014 at 20:44. |

I don't mind helping out in the board layout and testing part. I have been building the Vampires, I have been looking at a better way of getting these built for people on the waiting list for them as they are pretty tough to build so i have been looking at the possibility of getting these built by a board house to get them done more quickly with a good standard of build. |
