Is CDDA really THAT different on the CDTV?! Oh and why don't you put this on Aminet? I would also love to have a look at the source, if you'd allow. Won't spread of course. Thanks in advance! |

The CDTV uses cdtv.device to play CDDA, and the Idefix cd32emu doesn't try to emulate that. CDTV audio does work if you install AmiCDFS. |

Why not just emulate the CD32?
There's nigh on zero difference in emulation speed between that and an A1200 if you use same setting for both regardless of what hardware youre running the emulation on. Emulating an a1200 to play cd32 software and then involving workarounds/tweaks/software solutions to emulate most of CD32 seems an exercise in redundancy if you just want to use CD32 software. Also WinUAE *IS* multithreaded. Not for cpu, that pretty much wont work for any cpu emulation in any system, but it is multithreaded. Its using 6 cores on one of my configs. |

Because it seems to me A1200 it's running faster than CD32 on my host, so I'm giving it a try.
And the CDFS thingy is only for CDTV emluation (SimCity), not for CD32. To my knowledge, WinUAE is not multithreaded, except for RTG. I see WinUAE maxing out 1 core and not using another one, until I switch to RTG. Could you give me the config that uses more cores for you? Oh and the CPU is not the only chip of an Amiga. So other chips could be emulated on other cores. But as i understand Toni, synchronisation between them is impossible with multithreading. |
