OS4.1 FE & DOpus4. No sound in DOpus4.

Hello,

I think this is probably a DOpus4 bug when ran on classic hardware (could someone with real hardware test this?) rather than a WinUAE bug, but I'm not 100% certain. Can someone else please check that when double-clicking any of the files in SYS:Prefs/Presets/Sounds, that there is no sound output? I have tried both 4.18.44 and 4.18.29. I have sent the maintainer of DOpus4 a private message.

I confirm that there is something wrong with the sounds (Mp3 they are also fine from DOpus). If you make the same sounds from Workbench Multiview also can not play and crashes, tried to change too DataTypes. The problem is present in OS4.0, OS4.1FE and OS4.1Classic

Just to be clear, when you say "something wrong with the sounds", you mean it acts as if it's playing but you hear nothing at all, right? That's what is happening here. MP3 isn't natively supported by DOpus, so I suspect you'd have a filetype set up for that, that runs some command line player for them (which one? curious).

You're right about MultiView. I hadn't thought of trying it with that. It doesn't crash for me, but nothing happens when you press the play button.

In the updated version of OS4 DOpus for MP3s performing with a click, ma non c'รจ alcun "Filetypes" and I look associations, probably they have an integrated player in DOpus 4, and they have the same thing to the sounds (Iff, 8svx etc.. ). Another thing I noticed is the ability to open the fly with a click archives, turning them into a directory, questo grazie al comando AmigaDos "XadUniFile" (versions DOpus 68k seems not work)

It is also very strange because it does too OS4.0, OS4.1FE and OS4.1Classic, after the second click OS4 crashes !

Try older versions of WinUAE. I am quite sure it worked before.

Not a problem WinUAE, I think the problem is in the operating system, with the application "SoundPlayer" files sounds IFF, 8SVX, WAV etc.. you sound great !!!

Looks like this thread can be locked (or simply ignored). Not a WinUAE problem but a sound.datatype problem (and mp3s use mpega.datatype, hence why they are okay). Thanks AMIGASYSTEM and thomas for checking it wasn't just me.

I assume you posted that before your post on the Hyperion forum, so by now you know that can't have been the case :-)

Ciao MickJT, I did not understand what you wrote, if you have solved the problem, I still had tried multiple versions of "sound.datatype" all gave the same problem. The MP3 sound perfectly with Multiview, DVPlayer e AMPLifer (68k), WinAMP not good, if you move the GUI sound sobs.

The problem isn't solved. It needs to be fixed by OS4 devs. The "sound sobs" problem you have isn't related, probably just a lack of CPU power or some idle slider setting.

No is a problem of WinAMP, with Multiview, DVPlayer and AMPLifer there are no hiccups, on Dopus4 have associated with a tab on "SoundPlayer"
