Altered Beast - No ingame music WHDLOAD

I watched the Altered Beast longplay on YT and was surprised that it has ingame music.

The WHDload version only seems to have SFX.

How do I switch the music on?

@Stingray:There's a lot of bugs that are really old in there, like this one, 2009 and back. How does it work. Are the bugs up for grabs for any whdloadauthor if they become to old, or they always considered belonging to the original author? Just curious.

The slave needs indeed an update. A buttonwait tooltype for the title screen would be nice too. Even if it's a crappy game.

Guys, i can't find a fixed altered beats whdload,
with music in stage 1 !!!
I tested the last version with a cfou music fix,
but i still have no music in stage 1 !

please help !!

Maybe the slave needs a bit more chipram allocated. Wouldn't be the first WHDLoad game without ingame music due to the lack of ram.

i will compare booting on IPF files.

perhaps no music in game only in title screen.

or like Torvak you can not have SFX and music in same time and you must choice...

it's an old patch.

I will try to look that in the week... after i'll be in holidays

I tested by booting on IPF.

512kb of Chip memory is enough for in-game music.

I think it's a timing issue.

indeed, during the loading, the volume of the music stops progressively then it is restart in the game.

with the WHDLOAD version, the loading is too fast, the music stops after the launch of the level when the music of the level had just been activated.

thus hardly activated, the music is cut ....

test in a monitor (HRTMon) during the game just write $ 0001.w to the address: $ 2eb88 for the music to be played

the test is done at: $ 2ec32 CMP.w # 1, $ 2eb88

i'll try to fix it soon

I wanted to fix some Altered Beast bugs. They're assigned on mantis (to me) for a long time. since you figured the issue, you can take this on. Make sure you have the latest slave.

install script to fix too.

it's confirmed, if i wait the end of the title screen music during loading of level 1 so in game music is displayed correcly

The patch update is good, but I managed to do it with the help of visiting the device manager and uninstalling a device from there.
