Furry A501

My A501 started to act up sometimes.
Opened it up today to be greeted with the usual fur and corrosion. Luckily just one ground plane connection is all that's eaten, easily fixed using a piece of wire through the PTH.
Ordered capacitors for it as well as there is slight leakage from them.

yep every single owner of a A501 card needs to open it up and remove the battery. They are all like this.

Remember to neutralize the battery spillage prior to re-varnish the board!

BTW: I've seen worse battery leakage (two A501 on my possession) and they still work!

Thanks dude,
Ni-MH should in theory be better than what was on it (I hope, ) as they only leak when overcharged (not gonna happen check out the mA/H)

I have one that I am trying to resurrect. Removed and cleaned the pcb. Was getting a yellow screen. Touched up all solder joints near the leak, now I'm just getting a white screen. Any ideas?

Double check all solder joints. I changed the caps and 74xx series IC's as a precaution as well. Only other thing I can think of is bad ram.
