A500++ Prototype

Just saw this over at A.org and couldn't see anything about it over here at EAB.

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53013

An interesting project creating a brand new A500 form factor motherboard with an 030, scsi, more ram and a zorro2 slot etc. It is being created by Amiga Digital (http://eab.abime.net/member.php?u=9901)

Looks interesting!

Outstanding project indeed!
I would so much love to see it come true!

[dream_mode=on]
What about an fully buffed A600+ proto with 030?

Whoa! I definitely would want one of these at hand in case my a500 mobo dies because of their age.
Is it a personal project or is aimed at making more than one board?.

Interesting idea..

To me an even more interesting idea would be to take the A4000 schematics and lay it out in an ATX form factor so you can use sensible off the shelf cases. :-)

From what I have read he will be making more than 1 board but they will stay in the Netherlands and given to people he knows iirc.

He MAY take it further but I think it's more of a personal project. Maybe Amiga digital will see this thread and let us know some more info about his project.

Most likely it'll be a "DIY with rear lamps warranty" style approach, as with Georg Braun's stuff.

I bet the Zorro 2 style ports won't be easy to source.. well they will, but the minimum order quanities are a PITA.

+ FFS they don't half bicker on amiga.org. EAB FTW!

Yes, its partly based on work done by Georg Braun (all his stuff is available in schematics) who made the 030 CPU card for the Phoenix Board or in other words a GB1000 in a different shape.

unlike the GB1000, this board isn't stuck on SRAM...

I notice what looks like an A3000/4000 fast processor slot, near the CPU/FPU

very interesting indeed!

Yeah that thread on A.org becomes very b/tard-ish towards the end. Bickering and posting dumb pictures.

EAB FTW!

They're a bunch of wankers on amiga.org.

A number of them had a go at me for downloading a copy of Pinball Fantasies a few years ago. Its not like I can go to a shop and buy it, is it?
