Yeah, I know software rendering will never be as good, just thought it might be an option given the Radeon is easier to get hold of for people.

Voodoo3 PCI are getting harder to buy every day.

Its shame that its only 3D capable Amiga PCI card.
Radeons are 3D capable only under OS4.x is that correct?

Correct, the only real option for OS 3.X with the Mediator is the Voodoo 3, 4 or 5. There is also the Permedia which I've never tried but, I wouldn't recommend it. There was some effort towards a Warp3D driver for Radeon on OS 3.x but I think it would take a bit of help from Elbox and possibly the approval from the owner of the OS 4.x driver to finish it.

Wazp3D is really just not fast enough to be enjoyable, perhaps if we had CPUs that were in the 1.5GHz range perhaps. It should basically work if you really really want to play something that's Warp3D only but not for something that's already demanding like Q3 or RTCW.

Help from Elbox and approval from the OS 4.x owner --- hmmm...
Maybe faster approach would be to make Voodoo3 emulation

It should be really possible to make AGP-PCI adapter as it is only not pin compatible for AGP1x/2x. Everything else is compatible with PCI 3.3V. [ Show youtube player ]

Cosmos used voodoo4 with agp4x(AGP 2.0). Not so compatible with PCI(timings/voltages). Voodoo 3 is fully AGP 1.0/ AGP 2x card. Also Voodoo 4 is not fully supported by elbox drivers(the same features as in Voodoo3 only). Whats better the AGP version of Voodoo5 is also compatible with AGP 2x only

A warning before anyone wastes their money on this, I tried one of these AGP to PCI adapters and they did not work with a Voodoo 3 in the Mediator. No device is seen by pciinfo. I tried several Video cards and tested it in an old PC to make sure that it worked-it did. Cosmos reports something different though, his device is somewhat different to mine.

The Voodoo 4 PCI works in the Mediator just fine, except it doesn't support Big Endian modes, of which there are not many applications which require it any more that don't have replacements which work in LE. The Voodoo 5 PCI also works as the Voodoo 4, but both are not any faster than a Voodoo 3 and a tad bit slower generally. Somebody was going to test a Voodoo 5 recently to see if this had changed at all recently but I never heard more about it.

The difference is that Cosmos' version is a passive one without components that basically only connect pin-for-pin, while the one above from the russian seller is an active one.

Maybe they all got snapped up after posting the link haha

there is only one pci card there now which is voodoo 3 but it is above £125

I have tried the same with a pci express to pci Adapter but the mediator doesn’t see anything in pci info either

I was trying to do the killer ppc but with the pci express version

Save the search and you'll (hopefully) get notified when new cards appear.
