You beat me on level 5. The gap dropped from 2925 to 2650, so you got an extra 275 points. In fact, you beat me on all levels (gap increases after every level) and I just overtook with the mysterious boss points.

Ah, okay. Pretty sure it's because I used smart bombs against a few bosses. If you defeat them with only the standard weapon you'll probably get more points.

Okay, now I'll have another bash at this.

Well done John. I'd say only the last level is really tough, and only until you memorise the best way through it.

I just noticed this. I moved towards the bees and they give no score, only the hive. Good to know.

There's a hickup at 15:12 because WinUAE created two video files (which it sometimes does with the x264vfw-codec).
You are mastering the game !
One question : on the shoot'em up part, your shooting is regular and fast. Do you use an auto fire ?

Thanks Dan. Yeah I agree, the last level is the only one providing some challenge.

Yes. More specifically one button mapped to rapid fire and another to single fire (for smart bombs).
It's allowed in this competition as long as there is no specific autofire-powerup in the game (like in Deluxe Galaga where it's forbidden).

Hummm, then maybe I will give another go and try with such a configuration, as shoot'em up part is the one where I avoid the most enemies (and thus miss some points)...
Will check available time this week, not sure but who knows ...?

Cool !
This is the "most difficult" boss (until you get how to move).
If you have problem, look at john4p video (his moves - not how he smart-bomb )

And here the video to show how it's done:

[ Show youtube player ]

Again WinUAE created 2 video files - this time the hickup is at 23:25.

Uploaded now already so you can fully focus on Deluxe Galaga and Llamatron in the afternoon.

I had one practice go in the week and got to level 2 but didn't take a screenshot. I only had time for a very quick go this morning and I got nowhere near as far.

Fun round with a close battle.

In the end john4p gets the edge and takes the GOLD medal. Gratz John!
SILVER goes to rexsu who's now leading the league.
BRONZE for lifeschool not far behind.

Also well done arcanist, Biscuit, malko and LinesMachine for finishing the game!

Quite popular round with 18 participants.

The team battle was very close as well: in the end EAB wins by a hair's breadth with 59-58 and thus ties 1-1.

Here my run:
https://uptostream.com/cwadpd5omsrx
My game is much better than John's.
I killed a lot more enemies (almost perfect in the shoot'em up!) and lost a lot less lives but I'm behind the score
The scoring system is bad, this game is not suitable for a competition imho.

Otherwise an enjoyable game but with a weak replay value after completed.

Yeah it was kind of just a casual go. If the lives counter had displayed more than 6 lives I would've invested a lot more time to get a "clean" run.
But there's no difference between 6 or 16 lives, so...

Too bad rexsu, you would've deserved the win. Well, next time...

Going to watch the shmup-sections closely. Maybe I'll learn something.

Those last minute EAB clutch points.

I enjoyed it. The gameplay feels a bit average but the visuals and sounds made it quite fun. We managed to bumble through its scoring system so that's a win.

Those who will watch the phases of shoot'em up will be surprised in my opinion
