Posting scores BEFORE you actually die is no big deal. I've even done it a few times myself over the last few rounds, in situations where I knew I couldn't go any further.

For me, the spirit of the competition is all about playing the best games, not about only playing those games which fit into convenient scoring structures.
Yep - that's how we'll do it!

There's no highscore table in this game and your score is lost forever once you're game over. That's why Graham - understandably - rated this game unsuitable for competition.

But since you can pause the game at any time by pressing 'P' just take a screenshot before it's game over. On your last life? Press P and take a screenshot. Continue playing and take another if you get further.
Or record a vid - it's a short game.

There's an issue in the jetpack-section of level 2 where the white clouds can obstruct your score. Should the score in your level 2-screenshot be unreadable it'll be worth a score of 80,000. But it's very possible to get a shot of a readable score even in this section (there's black sky between the clouds).

Real Amiga users don't have to take a pic of the whole screen when the score is hard to read - focus on the score counter.

This is the final screen for this competition (just before the final boss):

If you manage to get to this point take a screenshot and you'll be awarded an additional 10,000 points for each life displayed (six is the max that can be displayed so 60,000 max bonus).
You must take your final screenshot at this screen! Screenshots taken at the final boss will not be counted!

Post a picture (or video) of your score here with the score written underneath. Enter as often as you like. Only scores achieved during the round's time frame count.

No cheating of any kind (including score leeching). No save states allowed. If you suspect anyone of cheating please let us know in private - anyone found guilty will be banned for the entire season.

Remember, anyone can join in at any time. Have fun and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Just being nitpicky here, but the game is a 1-hit kill. No health to be low here

Just had a quick go at this, but the game is not really my cup of tea - one dies too easily. At least the music of level 1 is good.

If you die you have temporary invincibility. That can be helpful to rush past tricky bits.

Rule update:

Since we don't want the winner of this round to be the one who can milk the final boss for the longest time in the end we came to the decision that this last screen of the final level before the boss will be the end point for us:

If you manage to get to this point take a screenshot and you'll be awarded an additional 10,000 points for each life displayed (six is the max that can be displayed so 60,000 max bonus).

Of course you should then try to defeat the boss to beat the game - you just can't use that score for this competition.

Very good mastery of the Amiga hardware.

It's an easy game, many players will finish it.

It's not easy nor hard, it's just a huge memorization fest. I finished it back at the day. The execution is not hard, but you basically have to memorize the whole game.

It's not as bad as Rick Dangerous on this regard though.

Yes, its not hard, although not as easy as Metal Law. The SNES version is much better, and looks like a more complete version of the game.

They even reward extra points for the gems and time at the end of each level, and it has a high score table. It makes the Amiga version look unfinished.

Metal Law.. I swear to God, I was just TWO SECONDS to finish it when I lost my last life on my first go at it.

Then finished it on my 2nd go. When I noticed I was so close to finish it when I got the game over on the previous game I laughed really loud.

I don't think the SNES version is better... that parallax is stupid and the extra levels with overhead view are awful.

The parallax IS Really stupid. Maybe the overhead levels add nothing but the game looks more finished.

Easy game, easy game.... maybe for someone playing everyday
But I must admit that with a good memory and timing, it's surely doable.
Anyway, regarding my score (compared to john4p score on the screenshot), looks like I have made half of the game so far...

I'd say it's simplistic and unfair (at times). Once memorized it becomes very easy.

It is. To me this is like a bookclub, only with games.

It's a book club with a competitive reading mini-game.
