Deep Copy?

Anyone familiar with something called "Deep Copy"? I think it's a program that would allow me to back up my original copy protected disks and I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of such a program.

If I could just get my Catweasel floppy drives working correctly in WinUAE then I would be fine. If this program Deep Copy actually exists, then I could use the Catweasel in the emulator to make a disk image perhaps.

Well, Deepcopy was a program published by Abacus in 1989 or so. It was included on the Abacus AmigaDOS Toolbox disk and it also appeared, along with its assembly language source code, on the disk that came with the book Amiga Disk Drives: Inside & Out. The latter disk can be downloaded here (Planetemu).

Deepcopy never worked very well for me, at least not on an NTSC A500 with AmigaOS 1.2, and it's not possible to make a disk image with this copier. Perhaps there is a different program with a similar name.

It won't help. ADF images don't support any copy protection tricks (except long tracks work with extended adf but nothing more "advanced")

Anyway, it won't be realiable (without manually analyzing the type of protection etc..) even with working catweasel drivers + (useless) new disk format.. Copy protections are not supposed to be copyable easily

It isn't "easy" for SPS either. Easy = put floppy in drive, press any key, 100% confirmed copy is ready.

You can't have confirmed copy from non-AmigaOS formatted disk without knowing how checksums are calculated and every format can have differently calculated checksum (and some don't have any...)

(and I am 100% sure all this info is somewhere in SPS's website already..)
