Gotek running Cortex Oled issue

Fairly new to this so bear with me.

I have a Gotek Drive which is loaded with Cortex 105a firmware.
Some of you have an OLED displays fitted to the Gotek which display the
file name and track information.

So Like we do I seen a youtube video purchased the small OLED display and fitted exactly as shown on the YT video, however I got it to do nothing.

I can think off 2 possibilities the display is faulty or it only works with HxC firmware.

This is the YT video i watched and have the same OLED.

If you can tell me where I went wrong It would be with the greatest of thanks.

Yes. It’s only supported by the HxC and Flashfloppy firmwares.

Sound strange. This is maybe a gotek with the hxc bootloader and the cortex firmware. This is possible since i provide the cortex upd file. In this case you can update to the latest hxc firmware. or this is maybe just a rip-off (cortex firmware sold as an hxc gotek...)
You have to try the update procedure with the usb stick to see if this is working...

I have not tried to update using USB - I got a little lost reading about needing a pc and a cable to upgrade the firmware. Do you have a direct link to the software needed on a usb to upgrade and the procedure.

Both gotek were purchased from the same ebay user and he sells quite a few of yours with HxC firmware.
Many thanks.

Okay answering some of my own questions.

Downloaded the HxC firmware to usb held the 2 buttons and powered on, I end up on the Amiga WB screen.

Unless i have done something wrong then it seems this does not have HxC bootloader.

Update followed the above recommendation to use flash floppy which worked a treat.

No need of cable.
Look at Firmware update procedure :
http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewt...p=11486#p16456

USB HxC Floppy Emulator Update procedure :

Copy the new firmware file (*.upd) to a FAT32/FAT16/FAT12 USB flash device.
Insert the USB Stick into the emulator and press both buttons.
Power up the device and keep the button pressed during at least 2 seconds.
Wait some seconds... its done !

The good question is what was displayed on the Gotek screen. If you got "Ldr", this is an HxC bootloader.
