Creating a new Amiga keyboard layout.

Hi all,

I type on Colemak and i was wondering if there is a way to define your own keyboard layouts on AmigaOS.

As far as i know no Colemak layout exists for Amiga.

yes, you can.. modifying keymaps was used extensively back in the 80's to create utility-disks, btw (by programming e.g. an F-key to output the name of the tool+return).

Oops, I'm a little late on this, I created the Colemak layout several years ago (and the AROS, MorphOS and AmigaOS4 versions as well) and haven't thought about that distributing it on github is not the typical way to distribute Amiga stuff. I have now uploaded the 68k and AmigaOS 4 versions on Aminet: http://aminet.net/package/driver/input/colemak

I actually did run across your Github repo after i had created the layout.

Good to know that there are other Colemak typists on the Amiga here (I had to learn it after getting repetitive strain injury problems using QWERTY), though my co-workers get confused each time they have to use my keyboard and vice versa

I recently used http://aminet.net/package/util/misc/KME-UPD to create a keymap for WinUAE that matched my laptop layout.
