joystick remapping question

hi. i tryed to map "Joy up" to a fire button, because i have a joypad and jumping around in games like giana sistas or turrican is kinda hard without a stick.
however it doesn't work that well... it doesn't hold "up" when i keep the button pressed, it's just a short shot.... so my jumps are always pretty short...

anyone have an idea whats wrong here? could it be an issue with my joypad?

thanks
marc

Hi there! Check if you set the button to "autofire", on the configuration screen. If it's trying to push up very quickly, that might be the problem.

well, autofire is of coure disabled on both winaue and my joypad =)

well i think maybe the problem is that the vertical axis is mapped to the vert axis of my joypad, and a joypadbutton is mapped to "up" at the same time, so there is one function mapped to two controllers. maybe thats messing things around.
however, when i dont touch the joypad controls, it should not send data?
isn't there a way around that?
