Yeh I am gutted - I think they aimed far too high. I think they would have made money rerelesing the original under emu on iOS?
Hopefully they will proceed anyway? |

I think one of the other issues might be some of us retro-kickstarter fans are getting tapped out.
I'm in for 4 retro projects already and that's all in the last few months. The first few were great. The 3rd, awesome, but I didn't give as much. The 4th.. A bit of a stretch.. This one, I was watching and hopeful, but my wallet is kind of glad it probably isn't going to make it right now... I think we're seeing the same thing with David Crane's kickstarter... There have been so many recently... desiv |

I guess the interest level on vintage games like Wings has disappeared like a fart in the wind. Imho, they put together a very sloppy campaign on Kickstarter, and now everyone knows it. Damn shame indeed. I'd like to see what Cinemaware will do next now that their Kickstart program failed.

I think personally they should have initially concentrated only on an Xbox 360 XBLA release and parallel development of a high end PC version.
if shit games like Super Meatboy can sell +1,000,000 copies in 12 months on XBLA then you can bet your ass something that looks like their target renders for the cockpit view even if you just converted the existing gameplay would sell millions of copies regardless of whether people knew about the Amiga or just wan't a WW1 action simulator type game. They have buttoned up really tight too, I was hoping to get some information out of them but it's been nearly a week and a half since I heard anything from them. Guess they are in no mood to talk now. Personally there are so many iOS games it would get lost on the download page which is flooded with millions of 99p games anyway and to be honest it wouldn't be worth a remake on a crappy phone/tablet IMO. XBOX, PC and then later with some of the profits a PS3 port on PSN. £15 and you have a winner for such a simple game that fits on 2x 880kb floppies. |

I agree. Promoting this game at $15 is almost unheard of on the App store. Most people out there don't want to spend anymore than $4 on any single app, yes, i am one of them. |

As we suspected they didn't get anywhere near the target. Now that the dust has settled I can also reveal that they had promised to do a questions and answers sessions but after nearly 2 weeks of silence from them and now the campaign has not been successful they are unlikely to be in the mood to talk to us Amigans.
Even if the company name was different and there was no mention of the Amiga version of Wings I still feel an Xbox 360 or PS3 game would sell if it looked like their target renders for the dogfight screenshot for about £12-15 on the XBLA/PSN stores. It's just a great game. Look how many copies of Super Stardust were sold on PS3 and that was a cut down version (no tunnel sequences to break up the monotony of the blasting sadly). |

Well, Wings has failed, but maybe Red Baron will succeed:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ames/red-baron Looks very similar and will support Oculus Rift. |

Good to hear. But they're probably not too happy about Red Baron reemerging. Hope they'll succeed with their 2nd attempt, but they should probably wait a while now (unless Red Baron-campaign should fail).

I'd like to see a remake of The King of Chicago. The music was like no other and really sets the atmosphere. Disk swapping used to drive me nuts though back in the day until I bought an external disk drive! Wasn't there supposed (or is) a remake (or emulated) for iOS? (Although I have Android...)

I would like to see a decent remake of the PC-Engine CD version of It Came From The Desert myself with all the regular graphics replaced with interactive (very interactive) video quality rendered 3D scenes rather than 24bit colour pixel art 2D carbon copy.
