i have a CD32 that wont recognise expansions

When i plug my expansions in, it has a faint power light and nothing comes on. and thats its, no power to hard drives etc. I have tried devices on other machines and its fine.

any ideas what it could be or solutions please?

I'd check the connector on the CD32 first of all. Over time they can get rusty and make bad connections. I had an A1200 with an accelerator and the machine was intermittent, I gave the expansion connector a good clean with some lemon juice then some IPA and it has worked a treat ever since. :-)

lemon juice... not very safe - better use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eraser - rubber one (not vinyl type)
