Who is still using their Amiga for something other than gaming?
Hey all
I ask this question once every two years or so, and since we've got a whole new selection of EABers I'll ask again. Who here uses their (real) Amiga for stuff other than games? What sort of stuff do you do with it? Interesting to hear from anyone here who uses their Amiga as their 'main machine'? So come on, spill the beans |

What i generally use my miggys for is appz LIKE Imagine 5 Object Rendering and Animation Octamed for Music / MIDI Rombler (as above) Pixel Art / Animation and IF the mood takes me I might code something for the miggy too |

Well I program games on mine (on occasion), also I do a lot of writing, I try to do it on my PC when I can but if it's being used I use the Amiga instead.

We use real Amigas in a network here for back office applications, order processing and invoice printing

I use my real Amiga for playing games. That is all!
I use my PC to install Amiga games, create Amiga icons and for everything else non-game related. |

I use mine (instead gaming) for:
- text writing - image processing (I can't get used to Photoshop or similiar tools on Win) - modules listening - a bit of ripping some stuff from many different games/tools. |

One of my 1200's does all the network housekeeping at the office, backs up the pc's to the server using script files to back up everyones newest files. It's come in very handy to repair the pc's bootblocks a time or two using disksalv & quarterback tools. Every once in a great while I make something on it to save us all time, like a plug-in for excell or word, or something for the pocketpc. I find it easier to make on the amiga and then port it to the pc. I still have better luck making web pages and brochures with Final Writer than with anything else. My brother still uses his amiga to design landscapes and sculptures.

I'd also like to add that Winuae/Amiga Forever has made owning a pc much more tollerable and less boring. Many thanks to everyone who had a hand in making it.
