Amiga<->PC TCP Nullmodem
I recently download NullTCP from aminet. It explain how to share an internet connexion available on your PC with an Amiga using a simple Nullmodem cable.
I would like to do the reverse thing. Share my ADSL connexion available on my amiga with the PC. Unfortunately, i've not too much knowledge into networking. Any help appreciate. |

You have your Amiga hooked up to your ADSL-modem, and want to share that over to your PC?
At the very least, I think you need MiamiDX to do that. But I'm not sure of how to get the Amiga to talk TCP over the null-modem cable. I remember setting up something similar, only the other way around (Internet-connection to the PC, shared with the Amiga). I might have used NullTCP (can't remember, as it is some time ago). But I also remember setting up a PPP-server on the PC, and then using AmiTCP to connect to that, over PPP. |

I did it the other way round too, with Miami connecting to my PC running pppd... through nullmodem...
But Miami does not provide net access to other machines methinks. I bet there is a port of pppd on the Amiga, or a similar thing! |

It's less trouble to just buy a cheap router and NIC for the PC? Less than $50 bucks and youdon't need to switch on one computer to use the other. My setup is a cable modem with a Linksys router connected to my PowerMac, WinXP box, Linux box then an uplink to a hub, which connects my other A4000. And 4 more free ports. My A1200s may be next.

Linkies (as we call them with my cousin ) are really nice routers. I recommend such a purchase too.

I think it's possible to do that with MiamiDX. In the .guide they talked about PC<->Amiga TCP network via NullModem, they also refer to the possibility to share an amiga-internet connexion with others amiga/pc but i'm not sure it can be done via NullModem.
While posting this thread i hope someone already do this with his miggy. Thanks for hints. |

Hmmm, MiamiDX (AFAIK) has an internal routing function, just route your ADSL connection to the PC´s IP and you should be set Just don´t ask me how, I use the normal Miami (without DX)
