I wouldn't be too sure about the four years anyway and of course Photon meant that the MD was released four years after the A1000. The whole 'hardware' and 'years after' thingy limps a bit...

Oh and...

For audio, it had two sound chips. A Yamaha YM2612 and a Texas Instruments SN76489 compatible device, which was required for Master System compatibility.

I am used to play Turrican marathon everytime at Amiga parties. I complete 1st, then 2nd and 3rd Turrican in sequence. Takes about 2hrs and it is always the great experience!

I suck in Turricans, suck! Like Gimbal.
I heard these stories about completing Turricans without loosing any lives, energy etc, some people are Turrican fetishists.

Bit confused here John!? do you mean that they didn't use the cyborg sprites (?) from the original Turrican that were also used in Universal Solider or are you saying that Universal Soldier was the original and Turrican 2 was a port from the Universal Solider on the on the Mega Drive?

If you are saying that T2 was a port from the Mega Drive, its actually the other way around. T3 was a port from my understanding but not T2

Anyway, i am just little confused by what you said, can you clarify duuuuuuuude!!!!!

It was a bit of irony. Bosses in Universal Soldier are laughable.

I am always annoyed of aliens levels of those games, though. Turrican is Amiga and Amiga is Turrican, in my opinion

The Mega Drive pallete is bad - and Amiga Sound is generally known to be better -but MD still has better Arcade conversions

Apart from maybe the first levels, T1 has a different more lonely feel i find(maybe that's not the case for others) but T2 has a real vibrancy and feeling of life for just about all of the game

I like that warmth from T2 and it's actually quite a nice place to revisit every so often

T1 for all of the time i plaed it felt like some of the colder dungeons from Zelda Link to the Past on Snes(the contrasting cold being a good thing for this game) and for that reason i didn't enjoy the experience quite so much.I expect some people prefer this type of feel and like T1 more as a result?

Super Metroid on Snes is another good example of that hot and cold feel i think works best in these games, but then maybe F5 were purely going for that desperate isolated feel along in T1 - certainly T1 works well in this respect and i would even say T1 is more standout because of this and also because it was the first

I think both games are about as playable as each other though

I really like the last passage of T1 where you must dig through those blue blocks with your flamethrower.

T2 is full of jokes, which I like. And of course - you can SQUISH those walkers!
