Looking for scans related to bitmap bros. games
I'm looking for reviews/advertisements of the games Cadaver, Gods, Magic Pockets and The Chaos Engine scanned from UK (or other non-German) computer mags for use on a website. Contributions will be credited (of course).
Thanks. |

If I can get a scan of my review of Gods, I will send it to you. Can't guarantee it though. Don't have access to a scanner.

I don't know too much about scanners. When I scanned my review of Gods at 300 dpi, I got a JPEG file that was 14 meg big!!!
Am I doing something wrong? |

@Muzkat
Oh...14meg is pretty fat. 300dpi mag scans (~2500x3500 24bit) usually have app. 25-15 megs uncompressed. Gently compressed jpegs at this resolution have app. 2.5-1.5 megs in file size, this means a compression ratio of 10 (uncompressed) to 1 (compressed) which is quite good in image quality and file size. You have to adjust the jpeg compression level in your graphic program before saving the image. Maybe your graphic application is by default adjusted to save jpeg's with the highest image quality, but that's not necessary for this purpose. Which program do you use for scannig? ...hope this helps & thanks for scanning |
