Trolls OCS

Does anyone have original disks for the OCS version of Trolls? They're missing from SPS - they only have two AGA versions (one is mislabeled as ECS).

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding: I'm not asking for the game, I'm asking that someone submit it to SPS.

This error was brought up nearly three years ago. Frustrating to see it still hasn't been resolved.

By the way, what is the difference between the two available IPF releases(0155 and 0996)?
For me both releases are exactly the same Disks, maybe different dumping methods ?

Maybe. That or sometimes the same drive can produce different 'bits' during a dumping process. It must not be easy to get identical 1:1 dumps every time.

...or different preservation format, one of both is probably outdated.

One of them could be the A1200 pack in version and the other retail?

Wow! When I submitted a support ticket to SPS one year ago, neither of the two guys who responded knew about the error...

That would make sense.

Is there any different protection than the manual protection?

The bootblock of AGA and OCS versions contains the string "Copylock Amiga (c)1988-90 Rob Northen Computing, U.K. All Rights Reserved."

Not true, game only uses Rob Northen's loader routines. It has no on-disk protection. I only checked the AGA version though as I have no original of the OCS version.

You can use the disk images from the OCS zip on WHDownload. That's an unaltered original AFAIK.

Ah, that explains why X-Copy's checkdisk was all zero

yes the images from whdownload site are originals ones
I renamed the images to ipf and worked perfect on winuae, seems there is no copy protection, only protection codes you need the manual to bypass it

Without any bit of difference.
Makes it sense to preserve two disksets, which are exactly the same images?

It's possible that there are differences in metadata present on the floppies (but not readable by the Amiga). If that's the case it makes sense from a preservation/documentation viewpoint, but not from a practical viewpoint. I don't know if there IS such a difference though, someone familiar with the IPF format would have to answer that.

Erm, you don't need to change the extension to .ipf - .adf will suffice!

Anyway, the SPS-team do not make needed corrections on SPS and HOL page, althought the facts are known for a long time!
