Retro Event for charity

I am organising an event for charity called "The Retro Ball" which will take place on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th December 2005.
This should be a great social event as well having a huge number of exhibitors plus confirmed retro celebs David Whittaker, Jon hare and Ben Daglish so far.

Come over to www.play4charity.co.uk regularly to get more news.

Tickets will be on sale shortly.

Special rates have been arranged with the De Montfort; a 4* hotel, for the entire weekend. These are £45 a night for a single room, and £80 a night for a double room (2 people sharing).

Should you wish to take advantage of this great offer (and it is a great offer by the way!), please do not book with the hotel, but direct your booking to hotels@play4charity.co.uk. We can then pass on your booking to the hotel, so you may enjoy these fabulously reduced rates.

We should also mention that the De Montfort is limited to 101 rooms, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Those fine people at Ultimarc ( www.ultimarc.com ) are providing one of their lovely JAMMA compatible arcade cabinets as a raffle prize at the event.
Tickets will be sold throughout Saturday and Sunday for the cabinet at £5 each and the lucky winner will have the cabinet couriered by us to their home.
The cabinet will be available to play at the event and will be set-up to play one game (game yet to be decided).
Let me know what you think - www.play4charity.co.uk

Well, I have been liasing with Jon Hare over the last few months and talking to him about his infamous game that never was, "Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll”. The game never saw the light of day and those who have tried to get information in the past on the game have failed. Absolutely nothing of this game has ever been seen before.

Well here’s the deal:

1) Jon is going to write an article on the game for Retro Fusion Issue 0 – yes the magazine you get free if you come to the Retro Ball. The article will be littered with screen shots of the cut-scenes within the game and will be an insight into the inspiration behind the game and where it all went wrong!!

2) Jon is going to showcase videos of the game cut scenes to those who come to the Retro Ball. The music accompanying the cut scenes will be played for all to hear (the music was composed by Jon and Richard Joseph). The videos will played on large projector screen and Jon will talk about what you will be seeing.

These videos have NEVER been seen by the public before – this is an exclusive!!!!

3) It is planned that the music for Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll will be available for purchase at The Retro Ball on CD.

4) Hopefully Richard Joseph will be attending the event as well.

Exclusive or what!!!!!

Well 1 week Saturday and the last official gaming event of 2005 kicks off - by gum has the time gone quickly since we intitally thought about doing this event.

For those of you who cannot make it to the event, or who would like to make a donation anyway, I have set up a paypal account called donation@play4charity.co.uk.

Please give generously. All proceeds go to the Everyman charity for research into testicular cancer, so a very worthy cause B)

Anyway see u at the Ball.... www.play4charity.co.uk
