Checksum Errors

Hi

Does anyone know of a tool that would tell me which sectors contain checksum errors on a floppy disk (don’t need them to be fixed just need to know exactly which sector it’s on). I know xcopy tells me which tracks but I need sector level.

It’s to help diagnose an issue with some checksum errors in my disk writer for my Arduino project (http://Amiga.robsmithdev.co.uk)

Any input is useful cheers

Rob

QbTools can perhaps do this.

Really pleasant layout

Hope you will solve all the small lasting issues.
Continue your work !

Hi Rob,
DiskMonTools can do this for you sector by sector. It shouldn't take too long if there aren't that many bad sectors.

Go through the disk sector by sector using the Disk Monitor and the bad sectors will not have a valid checksum. The drawback of this method is that you'll have to make a note of which sectors are bad.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback, issue now fixed and the Arduino solution is working very well for reading and writing AmigaDOS disks..... so i'll now be looking at more complicated/copy protected ones...
