mpega.library (WarpUP) problem

I have problems with mpega.library under my A1200 PPC/BV OS3.9 (CGX4). When I open mp3 (or demo using mpega.library) I have this error:

Warp-OS 2001 by Sam Jordan

or my Ami hang...
Even on clean OS3.9+CGX4+WUP5.1+Warp3D. Other software works good. What is it?

I tried mpega mad, but I heard cracks only. Could be a problem with hardware? Paula or ppc?

I have ppc emu (starting in startup-sequence) but as I said sound is srew up. Maybe I have got something wrong with WarpOS prefs, but I tried switch on/off few things and there is no difference. And with http://uk.aminet.net/util/libs/mpega_library.readme Songplayer or Amplifter said there is no mpega.library.

@radzik,

http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/mpega_libmad.lha

Extract from the mpega_libmad.readme file:

Quote:
This archive contains 4 different binaries:

mpega.library.040 - 68k version, just rename it to mpega.library.
mpega.library.pup - "fat" PowerUP binary, rename it to mpega.library.
mpega.library.os4 - OS4 binary, rename it to mpega.library.
mpega.library.elf - MorphOS binary, rename it unless you dualboot on CS/BPPC!

You might notice that the following binary is no longer included
(but the sources still support it, if you manage to build it, please tell me):
mpega.library.wos - WarpOS binary, rename it to mpega.library.
..this is because I have been unable to contact the maintainer for quite a
while, and it seems that no-one else is able to produce a working binary,
accounting for the huge delay of this release, sorry... :P
(4 different people have tried, and all have failed .. StormC strikes again!)
If you are still unfortunate enough to be stuck with WarpOS, I suggest you just
use the PowerUP version with the latest ppclibemu, which should work fine.

I'd recommend trying to take a look at the prefs. Maybe there is something wrong with termination?

I have on: memory protection, no patch, segment info and terminator off.
I startup-sequence I have:

before SetPatch

BPPCfix install reboot >NIL:

and after assign >NIL: ENV: RAM:ENV:
ppclibemu_install NAME LIBSpc.library

I tested HelloWorld.elf and it works.

BTW, put your extracts from Startup-Sequence within CODE tags to get rid of the smiley.

Ok, ive hooked my miggy up and have tried the libmad version. I too get screatchy crap audio from pup version via ppclib emu. However, Mpega.lib WarpOS version (latest on aminet) seems to work just fine.

Hey Mad-Matt,

Do you have a link for this version? It's the one missing from the mpega_libmad archive!

Thanks, Mad-Matt!

Radzik ought to try this. According to the mpega_libmad.readme file, compiling the WarpOS version from the sources successfully is virtually impossible!

which warpos library are you using ? Im using the latest Warpos 5.1 update lib files. I have had issues with the beta 5.1 lib version on the ppclib emu site.

http://aminet.net/biz/haage/WarpUP_V51Upd.lha

Problem I think is the ppclib emu site says it has the last good version. In fact its the bugged version and has caused me issues. Last official library works fine and is newer then the beta version on the ppclib emu site.

available here. You wont need it for mpega_warpUP though. I just dont advise to use the beta powerup library. Stick to the one in latest warpos distribution.
