Now, tell me a bit about your Amiga, if you own one, or if you plan to get one, or whatever.
I voted A500, but have an A1200 too, maybe I should have voted A1200 and pumped the stats up a bit more

A500
------

A500 with a trapdoor 4MB expansion 4x 1mb PC simms, Motherboard hacked to 1mb Chip.
A530 030 40Mhz FPU/MMU with a 1G SCSI 1x4MB GVP simm too.

A1200
--------

Stock A1200, with a catweisel, and a trapdoor 28 mhz 030 (EC) with a 16mB simm (singlesided).

Ok, I'll admit to being a very sick man and a hoarder of Amigas. Here is the list of Amiga systems I own at present:

(1) A4000T/060/604e PPC

(2) A500/030

(3) A600/030

(4) A1000/030

(5) A2000/060

(6) A1200T/040

(7) CD32

(8) CDTV/030

I used to own an A3000, but sold that a few years back because there's simply no room inside the desktop case to expand it. The most annoying thing is the lack of a 5 1/4 bay to put a cdrom drive inside an A3000 desktop.

Suffice to say I'm always looking to buy an A3000T, which would be infinitely more heavenly than owning a standard A3000. The other thing I need to top off my collection of Amigas would be a SX32Pro to expand the CD32, which currently is the only "virgin" Amiga I own.

If anyone has or knows of anyone wanting to part with an A3000T or SX32Pro, please let me know!!

Edit: I kind of forgot that technically my CD32 isn't a virgin. It does have the FMV card released by C=, but an accelerated CD32 would still be nice.

All you need now are the A500Plus, non-towered A1200 and the English A1500 (A2000) to go with that A3000 you're looking for and you've got a complete set!!!

I've got an A1200 desktop (didn't list it!). The A500+ is quite rare, even in Britain which I'm led to believe has the greatest number of them. There's an Amiga technician who lives 30 minutes from who owns an A500+. I've long considered pilfering it ;-)

In any case, my aim is not to own a complete collection of Amigas released by Commodore. If that was my aim, though, there would be plenty more Amiga models for me to add to my existing collection. Check out this exhaustive list of Amigas and clones known to exist (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/compod.html).

UPDATE

A dead A500+ KS3.0 1.5MB with external HD

Now working, by using the A500+ 4.5 power pack, Amiga 600 2MB with 20mb HD with external DD Floppy drive.

A Commodore 1084S monitor.

If only I could find a way to use the external A500+ HD with the A600

Wish I still had my original A500 batman pack, but I sold that to grab an A500+, then ditched that to snatch an A1200. Thankfully I stopped there.

Perhaps I'll buy a second hand one, because I just love the look of the original A500. I remember as a kid dreaming of getting my mitts on that machine for sooooo long.

Currently I've got an A1200, 10MB RAM, 1.2gig HD, Microvitec multisync monitor and a Goliath PSU . My favourite games of all time are on that machine and I don't think they'll ever be a scene to capture the imagination again like the Amiga.

It was more than just a computer. It was a phenomenon. and still is.

1 x Amiga 500 w/512KB RAM Expansion
1 x Amiga 1200 w/260 HD & External DD Disk Drive, Commodore 1084S Monitor

The Amiga 1200 still works fine but the some keys on the Amiga 500 don't work so I've ordered a new keyboard which I'm expecting sometime this week.

I Loved both of these systems when I was younger and have started using them both again and set them up in a spare room.

To a non Amiga person, it sounds like such a generalised and "too good to be true" claim.

But Amiga owners know exactly what Bloodwych is talking about.

The Amiga was special.

Agreed, there was definitely something special about my old A500 that Ive never had with any other system since.
I have cherished memories about games from all the machines Ive owned, but nothing beats those days.
I wonder what that 'special thing' was that sets it apart.

Ive now got the following:

2 x 500's

1 x 1200
& also 2 Amiga cd32's (one with a FMV module & one without)

Hopefully that list will be increased over the coming months, depending on finances!!

Hmm... let me see...

6x A500's
2x A500+'s
3x Commodore A1200 with 1GB, 540MB and 40MB HDDs
2x A600 Standard 1MB, the other has 2MB RAM with 20MB HDD

I only use one of each, the others are either spares or put away as a part of my computer collection. Needless to say I won't be buying anymore, unless it's an Amiga I don't already have!

All I can say is thank god for boot fairs! lol I got a working A500 for 50p!

Well SID isn't a PSG strictly speaking, its more of a snythesizer. Every other 8-Bit computer had a PSG though, which is why "All PSG's bow down 2 SID!"
