Checked it on YT, the background art wasn't as huge as that pyramid.
Wild estimation: let's say if the character was 1.80m (6 feet) high, then the visible stuff in the background would be between 5 and 15 meters (16f to 50f high). Maybe more.
So yeah kinda like that gold head they open in the pyramid.

I'am almost certain it was a platformer. Almost...
Looks like a funny Lucas games by the way. I should should play the Indiana Jones series one day...

It's not Toki but it looks like a pretty good game
Not Borodur either.

I don't think it was in outer space or in the future.

Thanks again to all.
Well I owned some weird stuff ?
This for exemple. It's not on HoL and on the TOSEC

Maybe what I'm looking for wasn't a game...

Maybe Kristal?
http://hol.abime.net/2600

Or Knights of The Crystallion?
http://hol.abime.net/2597

Or Maya?
http://hol.abime.net/2427

Those three are not platformers, but if you aren't 100% sure if it was a platformer or not, then looking through the list Amiga adventure games might bring results.

Also Benefactor has an egyptian level with a big statue: http://hol.abime.net/92
But the game came out 1994 so most likely it isn't the one.

And no one has yet mentioned the following well known games, so I'll list them just in case:

Leander
http://hol.abime.net/850
First Samurai
http://hol.abime.net/563
Shadow of the Beast 3
http://hol.abime.net/1893
Ork
http://hol.abime.net/2322

And if it isn't any of these, then can you remember anything else about the game? Like did it have a title screen or a loading screen before the game started? And if so, did the music play in the title screen, or in the game, or both?

And can you remember anything about the main character? Like what colors were used in it? And were there any enemies in the game? And if so, then how did they look like? Were they humans or some kind of monsters?

Still not any of these.

Yeah I haven't searched all over the place.
It takes a lot of time as you know. Of course at some point asking others might speed up things with a lot of luck. I knew it would be a tough one.

I felt crushed by the music and the environment. Don't remember the character at all. Nor the ennemies but I don't think it was human. Vaguely remember it was hard to play this game.
I'd recognize it if I see it.

Pretty sure there was a loading/title screen. Possibly with the same music ingame.

In case it was missed:

Music by Maniacs of Noise

Checked all the games they were in, didn't find mine.

I see...

It's the idea. Good find. But it doesn't ring a bell at all.
I think the background was totally black except for the huge statues at game start.

I think vertical scrolling was possible to reach platforms somehow. Had to use some sort of stuff ala Batman ?

The game could indeed be a tech demo, or maybe an unreleased prototype, that isn't listed on HOL...The HOL database has almost all commercial Amiga games listed on it, but lot of the PD and scene stuff is still missing from it.

Can you remember was the game screen displayed "full screen", or were there borders or status panels around it, like in Neverending Story:
http://hol.abime.net/958

Also about the title screen, can you remember how it looked? Was it like in most Amiga games, so there would be a mostly black screen with the game name displayed on the top part? Or was there something else, like a scrolling background maybe? And if you can't remember the details, then can you remember the colors of the game logo/name, or the general color theme of the title screen?

And also how did the game disk looked? Was it a loose commercial game disk that had once been in a game box? Or was it a typical copied disk with some sticker and the name written to it with pencil?

Or maybe the disk originated from one of those mail-order shareware collections, and looked something like the "Megaflash" disk shown here:
http://hol.abime.net/5409/diskscan

---

Also about the music, can you remember any more of it?

Here is the full soundtrack from Agony (15 tunes in total) :

[ Show youtube player ]

Did it sound anything like these songs? The Agony musics were made by Jeroen Tel, a founding member of the Maniacs of Noise.

---

And here are some more wild guesses, although most likely it isn't any of these:

Fire and Brimstone
http://hol.abime.net/544

Vampires Empire
http://hol.abime.net/1556

Or even Lemmings
http://hol.abime.net/872

---

This brought into my mind the C64 game Caverns of Khafka:

It's a horror game with mixed egyptian themes. But there was no Amiga conversion, so it can't be this one.

I just realised that the Italian publisher Simulmondo has many games that fit the description quite well:
http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?...C&limitstart=0

They have many different adventure/action game series, with almost a hundred games total, some with egyptian themes, and many have black backgrounds combined with big background art:

There are too many games to list here, but maybe you should browse through the Simulmondo games on HOL and see if any of them resemble the game you're looking for.

I can't be certain and I don't want to give wrong directions...
I think I gave all the details that I had remaining anyway... Of course a methodic questionning like this might trigger something...
I really have no recolection of the title screen etc... I wasn't alone when I loaded it a couple times and was probably distracted.

Copied disk with a sticker. Name written with pencil. I had many disks like this, written by the same person...

I seem to remember that there was an echo sound effect added to the music itself. Unreal is very very similar to the one that struck me back then. That's about it, only that it was repetitive. Those first seconds, repeated endlessly if I remember correctly.
