New here, and was wondering if theres a fix for the vertical jail bars on the GBS8200 (I have the 2013.10.12) yet? I plan on changing C11 for a tantalum bead, and replacing the electrolytics, but other than that, I don't know what to do to fix the jailbars

Hi,
There is a newish fix: [ Show youtube player ] I have done it but in the rush i did not do a before/after test and i had not used my GBS8220 for a while. It seemed to help with 'snow speckles'. I had already changed the electrolytics for branded versions. |

I'll do this copper tape fix too then. The biggest issues I have is the vertical jailbar interference and white speckles on 480p sources.
Here's a couple of photos I took to show the jailbars |

+ in the middle
btw my experience with the GBS 8220 bought off ebay is that it does not work on any of my A500s (rev 6A PAL). Screen is garbled on Samsung S27B350 no matter what I do. FWIW it works on my XBOX ... component input Last edited by Zuul; 06 March 2018 at 10:33. Reason: derp..great 1st post...necro |

There are interesting developments happening again with the GBS82**
The original Raspberry Pi mods ended, but it has been taken up again quite recently. Now you can run custom firmware with a wireless based Arduino https://github.com/ramapcsx2/gbs-control# |

Judging by the copper under those legs, they are supposed to be together anyway.

They should not be connected - well visibly.
The chip pin out has those two pins listed as P1.2 and P1.3 so they might not actually be connected within the chip. If you are going to use Custom Firmware and piggyback off the chip you will want to clear the solder off, or the chip socket will not fit. Last edited by Higgy; 04 June 2018 at 13:30. Difference between A520 vs GBS8220 looks like SD vs 4K I'll try AD724 later too.
I did the shielding too, seems fixed some problems but jailbars are still visible somehow. Grounded shielding didn't make any difference for me. I should put a small 5V fan on the heatsink too. No way to get rid of the annoying deinterlacing of GBS? I also found this, not sure if it works with amiga or not: http://www.hollandcomputers.com/stor...ors-p10889.htm Edit: I recommend to add a 5V fan on the heatsink. That big chip makes the whole board hot. Last edited by RiP; 11 June 2018 at 20:02. |

Hello,
Brand new here, would like to confirm that GBS-8200 v4.0 does indeed work with PAL Amiga 500 Rev. 8A.1. Just got this one going after 20+ years sitting in a closet. http://imgbox.com/ivTDCGR7 http://imgbox.com/NrnuyazT Now on to recapping |

I have not done any shielding, or image adjustment as of yet. Plus I'm bit color blind, so no big deal Also, this is not A500+. It is a rare beast that was build on A500+ board with proper chips, but 512K Ram and no real time clock or batter, and 1.3 Kick. |

Interesting, you can also add those missing chips easily. Edit: buy a DB23 connector or use DB25 and cut two pins of it for RGB video out, better that floating wires Don't forget to use a resistor for the CSync: Last edited by RiP; 13 June 2018 at 08:26. |

Yes, I have HD 9800 V5.0 (2015.01.15). I tried the copper tape fix but did not see much improvement (as I recall). But maybe it's more stable than the original. I don't think I have seen white noise on it - but I've never used it regularly...
