A600 with Furia. CF cards not working
I've fitted my new Furia accelerator in my A600. Works ok, showing over 15x faster than a standard A600 in Sysinfo.
However, it will only work with one of my 6 compact flash cards. I know the others are good as they work with my A1200 and WinUAE. I have one of those IDE to CF adapters that routes it through to the side and that works in my A1200 too. The disk access light on the IDE to CF adapter just stays on solid with the 5 CF cards that won't boot. Do I need to tweak something on the Furia to make cards work? or is this a known problem that can't be solved and I have to resort to buying one of the SD adapters instead? 1 x 32mb CF card works (Canon branded Sandisk card, very old), does work 1 x 32mb "Memory Partner", newer, doesn't work 4gb generic brand, doesn't work 8gb Transcend, doesn't work 16GB unknown brand, doesn't work SD to CF adapter, with a 2GB sandisk SD card, doesn't work Thanks |

My furia was very picky with CF cards. I had one that worked perfectly but then it became faulty. I bought a Transcend 4GB and Sandisk 8GB to replace it with and neither of them would work. I eventually switched to an 8GB SD with adapter and it now works like a charm again.

I bought another SanDisk 15GB CF yesterday, so that may be a bit of a waste if it doesn't work.
If not then I will have to buy the SD card adapter, what's ANOTHER £25 on the A600 project! (Already £300 in!). Expensive hobby. If I have to do that then I'd like to route the SD card to an accessible point for removal for file transfers. |

A600 with Furia. CF cards not working
If you can get that Furias firmware flashed to the latest version (there are instructions on Lothareks site to see which you have + the newer files), there is a high chance this problem will be solved.
Boris has released newer versions that were meant to tackle that situation as well as others with RAM timing. My anecdotal evidence (1 card) is that the update fixed both problems for me. I can now use any CF I have. |

My Furia is new and is dated 17th July 2019 (on a sticker), so I assumed it has the latest firmware, which is 12.8
The advice on the website is that some CF cards are "too slow", but it's the 20yr old 32MB one that works and all the others don't. I will try Furiatune to check what firmware versiob I have. |

My Furia works awesome with sd cards....gave up trying cf cards....also I did have boot issues with os3.1.4 where I had to disable cpu cashe in early start up menu....ive built a Custom os3.1.4 rom with os3.1 expansion library as I read that the os3.1.4 expansion library chokes the Furia at start up.....my custom rom boots great so far.

Thanks for the responses
I'll try the new 16GB SanDisk CF card tonight, as it's just arrived If that doesn't work I'm buying one of those dual port SD adapters. Any advice on SD extenders to route the slot to a convenient external location? Shame I cut the case for the side CF slot now |

It says on the Furia homepage that only Sandisk cards are supported (i use an old 8 GB Sandisk card).
To make matters worse, modern Sandisk 16 GB cards seem to hate Amigas. |

I see lots of talking about CF cards not working with Furia.
I've been thinking about buying one. I'll have an extra job next month that will earn me some extra money and I am thinking about using some of it to buy a Furia card. With it you can't use the normal A600 IDE port anymore? Can't I just keep my working CF adapter on my IDE port on the A600? |

But I find out the Hitachi Microdrive CF-Type II (mine is 3K4) works perfectly. No other CF card works for me even the one I purchase as "furia compatible" from amiga store. |

SD cards are cheaper and reading/writing them in WinUAE is easy as you don't need a USB CF reader |

Furia is a very good card, but it's very temperamental if it comes to CF cards.
I suggest using a SD card with an adapter. This one works really well: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KA-47-Sin...QAAOSw7OdcVhxH or this one: https://retroready.one/collections/a...600-amiga-1200 |
