usb to db9 adaptor

Im looking at using my Amiga db9 digital joystick on my pc with winuae. Is this possible with the many cheap usb to db9 serial adaptors sold on eBay?

For example would something like this work?

No, these are serial to USB adapters, Amiga joystick is not serial, it just uses same DB9 connector.

For joysticks you need something like this

If you know how to, there are schematics on the net to make one yourself.

Yeah I thought that might be the answer. $30 U.S for that adaptor.. Thanks for the info, Is there any other way of buying one cheaper or are these guys the only ones selling them. I wasn't planning on spending that sort of money for an adaptor.

What's the verdict on these adaptors, is the amiga joystick just as accurate on winuae then it is on a real amiga?

Very interesting, though there isn't much feedback on the item. Thanks for the info guys. If anyone else has had experience in using an adaptor with PC, please share.

Is the joystick just as reactive as playing it on a real Amiga? What is the device name in joystick port of winuae?
