1996 Amiga Hall of Fame (VOTE)

I had to remove two of the nominations

Pinball Prelude was first released in 1995
Xtreme Racing was also first released in 1995

Well you know how to vote, so I guess its time to go and vote for Slam Tilt

I'll run this for 1 week, that should be plenty of time.

My vote will have to go to Slam Tilt as its the only game on list I've actually played.

edit: I'm sure the poll wasnt there when I looked at first...

Anyways voted for fightin' spirit because I dont like pinball simulation and because of the awesome themesong with the alternate lyrics...

i have maybe played some of them for less than 10 seconds. i've played one of thema little more but it hardly qualifies for a great game because of the bugs. also the flicker makes it unplayable with winuae, so... i cannot vote.

I was struggling between Slam Tilt, Capital Punishment, Evil's Doom, Fighting Spirit and Chaos Engine 2 and I finally decided on Slam Tilt.

It was pretty good year for Amiga games. A lot of wonderful, worth mentioning and playing titles.

Chaos Engine 2 should get 0 votes. If it didn't have Chaos Engine in the title nobody would look twice at it!

I have nothing against Chaos Engine 2. It was very good game in my opinion. Everybody was expecting the sequel being similiar to the concept of the first part. Bitmap made very risky move doing something on the contrary. Some people didn't like it but some loved it. Like I did. At first I couldn't get into the game but when I did, I really enjoyed the play. Of course it is not as good as the first part but it is not a crap or an average game. People are just too much with the idea of sequels and prequels being very similiar to each other and this is probably why they do not like Choas Engine 2

Well I know what you mean about expectations and being similar, but I just thought Chaos Engine 2 was utter tripe

So dull and it just didn't do anything.

Rainbow Islands is nothing like Bubble Bobble and much better for it

...and what's wrong with Bubble Bobble???

An absolute classic

Here's a cool story about how the concept was conceived: http://www.rainemu.com/zzapraine/issue9b/blast.html

Bubble Bobble was good, but Rainbow Islands was so much better That's all.

Yeah, Chaos Engine was a total piece of trash. The BB's should actually be ashamed they released that and tainted their name with it.

By then Dan Malone had left (as is obvious with the shite graphics that thing sports).

Nope for me the best Amiga Game of 96 was Trapped, followed by Black Viper & Evils Doom. The most fun 2 player Amiga game for 96 was Capital Punishment ( Crap in single player )

Capital Punishment is a hugely dull attempt at a fighter.

The Amiga sucked for fighters, the control scheme killed it before it even got started. Capital Punishment took enough effort to even get it started, then once you did it played like a slow piece of crap!
