R.B.I Two Baseball or R.B.I Baseball 2
HOL currently lists the game as "R.B.I Two Baseball" but I'm inclined to say this is maybe a misinterpretation due to the styling of the box art that has been further misinterpreted/copied by magazines.
However the original amiga disk does read as R.B.I Baseball 2 Not like the budget release disk which I would say is probably another misinterpretation. Every other port of the game is read as R.B.I Baseball 2 http://www.giantbomb.com/rbi-baseball-2/3030-2277/ Also the title screen on the Amiga version is the same as the other versions which are read as "R.B.I Baseball 2" Then there is a legacy of the series to consider, R.B.I Baseball R.B.I Baseball 2 R.B.I Baseball 3 R.B.I Baseball 4 Is it naive to say the "R.B.I Two Baseball" is correct and every other version got it wrong? I'm not sure R.B.I Two Baseball makes much sense either. I'd say maybe at least relegate that to an Alt. title Thoughts?. Edit: I just noticed this post made by Codetapper quite a long time ago http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=2674 it seems like the poll suggests people were in favour of the name being R.B.I Baseball 2. As Twistin' Ghost said, regarding the English manual, ''I think the small print with the copyright info lists it as RBI TWO BASEBALL or RBI 2 BASEBALL.' so long as it's in plain text, who are we to argue.
All we need is that evidence and the name should stay that way for the Amiga version, regardless if it was a marketing error. I understand that sometimes these things can get mixed up, especially with the design of the logo etc. Common sense suggests it should be 'R.B.I Baseball 2' but if anything suggests, for the Amiga, it should be the other, then do we inaccurately name it because of common sense? That image above is the EU version, look where the 'TWO' is written here, surely that cannot go after Baseball? Same goes for the US version too Let the debate continue Last edited by DH; 25 October 2013 at 17:42. |

I don't have a real opinion on the matter but I'll add to what DH said and the previous thread that Whiitesnake posted about.
If you look at the text on the back boxes: http://hol.abime.net/1202/boxscan - The Buget release spells R.B.I. Two (no "Baseball" though), just like the disk. But as Whitesnake said, it could be because of misinterpretation http://hol.abime.net/1202/diskscan. - The normal release also uses R.B.I. with "two" written vertically rotated at 90 degrees. I guess the idea there was to make a stylish "RBIt" that could also be read as "RBII" (two in roman numbers). I believe it is more obvious in small text compared to when you look at the title logo. |

If you look at a few NES articles on this, they cite R.B.I. Baseball 2.

But we are not on the English Nes Board
Also, from what I know, the NES cover is like this: http://www.mobygames.com/game/rbi-ba...overId,156483/ similar to the disk picture that whitesnake posted. On the other hand, if you take a look at the boxes that DH posted, you will have a hard time to justify that the "two" written vertically is supposed to be read after "baseball". Even if it seems far more logical to consider it should be RBI Baseball 2 (like Codetapper says in post #6 in the other thread). |

Well, another factor in all of this is the actual Floppy disk on HOL http://hol.abime.net/1202/diskscan
I understand this is the budget release, but nevertheless, even they have named it 'R.B.I. Two Baseball' |
