Prb. enhancing

I don't know how easy this would be to achieve but would certainly make problems easier to resolve.

It would default to this layout when you post a problem in prb.WinUAE or prb.Games etc.... but could be changed to free-format text like a normal posting box if desired - make this option quite hard to find so newbies would genrally end up filling in the full form with all details.

When you post a new thread in these sections rather than just get a text box you get the following text boxes:

Program/Game Name
WinUAE Version
WinUAE Log
Description of problem

etc....

The advantage of this is that it could also end up helping to build up some Micro$oft like Knowledge Base if it were stored in a DB format.

It goes completely against the forum system, so I don't thikn it's possible.

I mean, anything's possible if you mess with the code but I think RCK hs enough tasks to do right now to enter into such a fuss.

OK, so screw the forum system then

Have it outside the forum - e.g. http://kb.abime.net

In fact now I think of it I think this would be a great idea for ALL problems - including real Amiga ones.

Maybe if RCK thinks this is a good idea those interested need to sit down and come up with a good DB design, one that is not so laborious that it takes 1 hour to make a problem request, but also 1 that is flexible that it can be used for any type of problem.

Also we could input a lot of existing problems that we all see from time to time.

Also have stuff such as a Feedback rating, e.g. "did this solution help you?". This way we also know if the responses to common problems need enhancing.

Please don't confuse this with a FAQ - this would be much more flexible and easier to use.

And where do we leech a good selection of problem/solution data from? Why, of course the EAB forums

Will you be coding it? If so, go ahead.

Did RCK really say that?

Or how about a Wiki ?

If it can handle a Encyclopedia I'm sure it can handle a EAB problems/solutions section ?
