Akira
I'm on Level 2 of Akira (the military hospital), and would like to jump up on that red block that will take you to the level above, as the elevators don't reach that part of the level. But I can't jump to that red block, I can't seem to reach the block. Has anyone played this game before?

One possible way I could go is to jump off the moving green block and go over the two presents. But I can't seem to do that either.

I found the 1st level hard. I was running out of fuel and accidently killed those innocent bystanders. The only way I could get past it is use the cheats and memorize the level's structure, knowing what was to come before me.

andreas you bitch
This game is a blasphemy to my nice name. I hate it... So here goes my best advice: Quote:
It's an awful game, and not healthy for your mind! Serious, it's been ages since I last played this pile of turd, so I don't remember how to pass that one. If I feel a bit depressive and wanting to kill meself, I will play this part for you |

What emulator are you using? I only got this game after my Amiga wasnt working (i.e. in ADF format), so I never tried in the real thing.
In Winuae it never worked for me, and with Fellow I could get past level 1 (Which wasnt THAT hard, was just a matter of memorize each sector (And if you ever played R-Type, this shouldnt be too hard ), neither was THAT bad as people point out), but the game crashed in level 2. I really would like to try out this game a little more, just to see why it's rated so low. In the Fire-Button site users rated it as the WORST GAME EVER! . |

I'm playing the game under WinUAE 0.8.22 (r3). I don't know if my situation is the same under previous versions of WinUAE or Fellow.
I don't know why Akira was voted the worst game ever. The graphics in the game are average and I found the music excellent, but if users say that this game's so lame, then that's their opinion. Akira, perhaps you can change your name to something else, since you already discovered a game with your name in it. |

Actually, I believe Akira's nickname is about the manga which this shitty game is based on.
I think Akira means "Inteligence" in japanese, but I may be wrong. Actually, I haven't seen nothing wrong with this game too, but I only saw the 1st stage. People told me that from the 2nd stage afterwards it's all downhill. |

What's wrong about Akira (the game not me )? Everything. It does not reflect ONE BIT the action or feel of the movie. It's pathetically programmed, appaling graphics-wise, and it sounds worse than a kazoo. HOW ON EARTH did such a big license end up in the hands of I.C.E. is beyond me. This game should have been done in JAPAN. End of rant You are much better playing the NES game, but japanese skills are needed to really enjoy it :P |

Well, I rarely try to link movie licenses to the real movies, I just see them as games.
And the 1st stage of Akira is nice enough for me. Not great, but no bad either. Besides, if it was made in Japan, I doubt it would get an Amiga release. Unless if it was made by Kaiko I didn't know there was a NES game based on Akira. And I can only remember 2 good games from I.C.E. Fire Force and Deep Core (And Deep Core isn't even THAT good...) Total Carnage anyone? |

It seems that Akira doesn't like Akira
I didn't know that "Akira" means "Intelligence". Thanks for the info. I've played the NES version, but I immediately deleted it off my hard drive because I can't read japanese. |
