It's a video I made with Vice. With Windows 7 you can use Dream Scene to have a short video as wallpaper. Actually for some days I've put the Falling Code of Matrix, just to change...

Thanks. I prefer to leave those for my real Amiga, but the ones I like more are those that I make or search and adapt. Which OS are you using? You surely can use dream scene.

I have started my own c64 breadbin conversion and have sourced/fitted a keyrah v2 as a trail run.

I am having a problem with the "Return" key not working... should it work under the keyrah? I assume it should be working 100%.

Could you tell me if yours is ok (I will assume its fine)

This happens under XP and Windows 7. The keyrah works alot better under Windows 7, under XP its a bit slow with delayed key-presses etc.

Yes, of course the return key works perfectly. It has to be your original C=64 key. I would try changing just the key. You don't need the same key, just the contact inside any key to put in that key, although not so sure with the "Return" one -surely it will be the same-. I will have to change a couple that don't work from time to time after so much use.

I was leaning towards a dirty keyboard as the machine was heavily used and need a really good clean. I have good selection of spares tucked away so will get them out later.

Can you do this:

Ctrl + alt + del

and

Can you get into a pc bios using the keyrah?

I failed on both counts, cant suss out how or if it works using a c64 keyboard?

EDIT: If the rubber contact thingies are the same as an amiga then I have bucketloads of them!

No, I can't. You surely can with Key Extender that I'm using, remapping the right keys, but for both things when I need them I use a wireless keyboard.

Edit: Well in my case I could never enter the Bios because key extender is detected later -but it also depends on the mini ITX you are using-, so the best is an external one.

Ok that bios thing has finally been cleared up for me so thanks

I know it works on the amiga side. But its no biggy at all because I will hunt out a mini bluetooth keyboard, hopefully that will work.

Whats this keyboard extender thing you mentioned?

You will need to remap some keys, like the shift one.

I actually have remapped:
Num + as Delete
F5 as F10
F7 as F12
Left Shift as Left Alt

Just use Notepad to see if your keys are working. You can even try the joysticks this way. If they all work then you just need some remapping with key extender for what you need.

Ejem... a project like mine/yours needs a thread opened and some photos to share...

I took a few basic pictures last night but what I hate is constantly getting fuzzy pictures lol

You need macro for these things, more so for the detail.

Anyway I fished out the keyboard and it is not quite what I remembered, one key was kinda bodged and seems a bit flat/not right.

Yes we need our own thread tbh! then we could also do in-depth testing of the keyrah.

BTW no working breadbins were hurt! I have two and this one was dead already.

I never shared my Commodore 64 "wallpaper" that I use with Windows 7. It's a short video I made with Vice, you just have to extract and store it in your PC and later right click on it and "Set as Desktop Background".

The pointer will blink like in a real Commodore 64. I hope you'll like it.

You know that if you've got a lot of icons in the desktop you just have to make a right click on the desktop and select View... and uncheck See Desktop icons or something like that.

I forgot: for Windows 7 you need to install DreamScene this way: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...s-7-vista.html

Just to tell that yesterday my mini ITX died . Four years using it a lot of hours.

But I've ordered a cheap replacement, 68€. I think it will run faster anyway; a Mini ITX ASUS J1900I-C Celeron Quad Core.

I know there is at least another faster -I need onboard CPU and onboard graphics- but it's good for the price.

I'm actually using the laptop to post.

What actually concerns me is how to use the same HD and change the "PC". I think that if it doesn't run right -it has all of the options of the former board including graphic drivers- I will be able to boot in secure mode and maybe download and install the new graphic drivers. I hope so.
