Light Gun games for Amiga
Hi, I have a Trojan light gun and I would like to open a discussion on this topic.
Do you have a light gun for your Amiga? What games do you play? Do you have a trick to calibrate? Did you try the WHDLoad package for light gun? What failures do you see the games? How could you correct it? Everything related to light gun games for Amiga ..... |

One problem with light guns on Amiga is that they are only compatible with CRT monitors. Most LCD and LED displays implement scan doubling circuitry that throws off the timing of the light gun.

Hi,
according to this page at least the following games work with a light gun: Quote:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=86582 Oh, and light guns do only work with CRTs, they need the cathode ray travelling from left to right and up to bottom across the screen, I do not think they work with any LCD. |

Ah had a light gun back in the day. Came with a disk with skeet shoot and some others, which were enough fun.
I found some games like Capone was it? Didn't actually work with MY gun. But Space Gun (An Alien rip off) worked and was fecking AWESOME!!!!!! Ah spent ages playing that while using my toe to operate a key on the keyboard for grenades rather than reaching down...and listening to Roxette as a backing track. ......i forget why lol. ok, I was thinking about the possibility of doing a compilation of these games once they were tested for CD32, although the CUSTOM of the slaves would have to appear at the beginning of the game to be able to change them depending on the type of gun and configuration of each one..

From memory there was 2 "types" (or brands) at least of light gun's. I knew from the specs on the box of Capone that my gun shouldn't work, but I borrowed the game off a kid up the road regardless, in the hope that magic pixie dust would make it compatible.
Think it specified "Actionware" which would make sense? Last edited by 005AGIMA; 27 May 2019 at 03:36. |

That is cool. Didn't know there were light gun games for the Amiga.
Would a master system light gun work with these games? Just thinking as it has the 9 pin connector and er... I own one. Oh and yes I've got a CRT too. |

It does, but you need an adapter, which isn't that hard to solder (and WHDLoad). See this thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=21195&page=3 Last edited by fryguy; 28 May 2019 at 15:24. |
