Famous last word

Tonight I have totally revamped all MAC game .HDFs

...no longer are they "hacks" of wairnair's original "Prince of Persia 1 / 2" image.

These are the details of what I've undertaken (besides anything previously mentioned):
  • All games now have "Apple hard drive disk emulation" set.
  • "Prince of Persia 2" and "Warcraft - Orcs & Humans" now have "Summer mode" set.
  • All games have been set up via "ShapeShifter" with the correct OS "Starterdisk.hfv" file and the "<gamename>.hfv"; instead of being renamed / hacked to work.
  • All games are no longer copied / run from RAM. This means that you can use natives "Saves" from within MAC emulation (except for "Warcraft - Orcs & Humans" as "The computer may not have been shutdown properly" message annoyed me).
  • The "Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness" preferences file has been slightly modified to slow down "Mouse Scroll" and "Key Scroll" as they were too high.
  • "SaveStates" after protection were re-created for "Prince of Persia" and "Prince of Persia 2"; as that's what needed when you change the base .HDFs.
Anyway, that should really be it... I don't think I can get these any more perfect

So, just downloaded / extract the following into "C:\WinUAE"

UPDATE !

A great way to download all these without going into Incognito mode or clicking each individual link if downloading again is to use Mega Downloader 1.7

https://www.softpedia.com/get/Intern...wnloader.shtml

Click link and it adds the download to the list, click each link and soon enough you'll have them all and it will download one by one with up to 5 connections and no kick out

Again, this evening I've been perfecting my MAC game .HDFs...

Beside anything else listed in the thread so far regarding these, today I have undertaken the following:
  • Renamed "Prince of Persia 2" --> "Prince of Pesia 2 - The Shadow & The Flame".
  • Set memory within MAC emulation to "32MB" as opposed to "20MB".
  • Removed "Summer" mode from all "ShapeShifter Prefs" files; and made sure all were standardised in terms of settings.
  • Disabled "This computer may not have been shut down properly..." warning in the "StarterdiskQT.hfv" file.
  • Due to the above, removed the need to copy a clean file over the top of the old one upon boot for "Warcraft: Orcs & Humans". This now means that all MAC games support native saving from within MAC emulation.
  • Cleaned up the "S/Startup-Sequence" file on all .HDFs to remove redundant entries.
  • Within MAC emulation, renamed any "GameHDD" hard drives to <gamename>; be it abbreviated sometimes.
So, please do the following:
  • Delete the configuration file "Prince of Persia 2 [AGA] [ShapeShifter].uae" from under "C:\WinUAE\Configurations".
  • Delete the <gamedir> "Prince of Persia 2 MAC" from under "C:\WinUAE\Games".
  • Delete the SaveState "Prince of Persia 2 MAC.uss" from under "C:\WinUAE\SaveStates"
  • Download and extract the following into "C:\WinUAE".
Don't forget this trick for "Prince of Persia 2 - The Shadow & The Flame" in order to see the intro / cutscenes properly: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=422

That really should be it for all these MAC games added so far

I download JDownloader 2 from MEGA at full internet channel speed of 10-11 MB\s. Therefore, I recommend using it to download not only from MEGA, but also from Youtube and from hundreds of many other resources.
It is very convenient to use.

A note about saving games in MAC emulation.

With these games you can just save, wait for the write to finish and quit emulation:
  • Alone in the Dark.
  • Prince of Persia.
With these games however, you need to save and then quit the game back to the MAC OS otherwise:
  • Prince of Persia 2 - The Shadow & The Flame: save file isn't there.
  • Warcraft - Orcs & Humans: save file is there, but if you try to load it you get the following:

  • Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness: save file isn't there.
...or just use "SaveStates"; I haven't encountered any issues as yet.

Following on from the discussion / solution detailed tonight in this thread: Evil's Doom...

I've now updated my .HDF, which allows "Saves" to work

So please do the following:
  • Download this archive.
  • Extract into "C:\WinUAE\Games\Evil's Doom AGA".

Hello Damien (and everyone else).

Due to various personal setbacks I have no been following this thread for the past year. Wow, it has grew up!

I have been trying to apply all those patches I missed, but some of those are not available on mega.nz anymore.

Specifically (so far), I can't download update 6, 10

OOPS: I just saw that there is a new base+1-10 updates included. Before I go and request this, was a newer 'updated base' ever released? Damien sent me notifications for every update he did, but I never got notification for the update Base installation

I've now included the "promotional" Evil's Doom SE video in my bare bones .HDF

...will be included in "Update Pack #24 - Part 2"; which should be just around the corner

However, if you can't wait and want to try this now then:
  • Download this archive.
  • Extract into "C:\WinUAE\Games\Evil's Doom AGA".

Heya turrican3,

You're best off asking the question in this thread: Mac titles for CD32 via Shapeshifter?

wairnair and others are the real ShapeShifter / MAC experts

What are the limitations of Mac games on WINUAE?

Googling Top 10 Old school Mac Games comes up with some cool games like Tie Fighter, System Shock, Syndicate Plus, Marathon, ??? Are these games compatible or is it hit 'n miss?

Games like Dark Castle, The Colony, Lode Runner will work?
