Some homebrew developers are still making games for the PC Engine! Check out this site for some newer PCE/TG16 games - http://www.mindrec.com/?main=pce/index.php

Frozen Utopia is working on "Mysterious Song" and "Neutopia III", both on CD-Rom. These pics are old, this looks probably much better now.
http://www.frozenutopia.com/projects.html Another pretty cool project: Somebody is porting Bubble Bobble for the PC Engine. Maybe they release it on HuCard. http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=5000.0 |

Shadow of the Beast
A spectacular conversion by Davy Jones' DMA Designs (the people behind Lemmings, Bloodmoney etc.) Music is great, CDDA by (I think) Tim Wright of Beast 2 fame. The graphics are great, it's a much easier game. |

Yes, i mentioned Shadow of the Beast some month ago. It's has indeed a brilliant CDDA soundtrack and the difficulty is well balanced. But it's still an average game.
The Mega Drive game has parallax scrolling, but the "animated" Beast is good for a laugh. You have to turn off the music too. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 12 June 2008 at 16:19. |
