Best Windows app for Amiga2PC connection?
I just got myself a DB-25 Male to DB-25 Male cable, and thought I would test the famous (and slow) Amiga2PC setup!
But... Are there any newer and better PC applications than PC2AMIGA from 1996? Can I use Total Commander for this or something? (I run Windows 7 32-bit with PortTalk and AllowIO installed) |

I don't know an alternative (as I've given up on all that years ago), but I can report that PC2Amiga works fine in a virtual machine (running Windows 9x) with parallel pass-through. I must've been on XP when I last did this, but that probably makes no difference.

Mm, with a null modem cable I use Cloanto's solution (nice and convenient to use) but I wouldn't know about parallel. You can pick up a null modem cable for next to nothing though!

If you've got an A1200 there are better transfer solutions (LAN/PCMCIA CF adapter). |

I have a PCMCIA SD-card adaptor running on my A1200 just fine. It's much faster than parallel or serial and all the drivers are on Aminet. It's hot-swappable and doubles as a removable hard drive. Mine cost something like £5.

Just remembered, I think the Weird Science product (inc software) used a parallel cable. I don't think they're going any more, but someone might have the floppy that came with it. Think it was called NetworkPC or something like that.

Amiga Explorer is good but I think it's serial-only.
