Defjam & CSS Compact Disks

Hello,

I'd like to complete my collection of these disks. I had some of them on real Amiga disks. But after all the years, most of them have read/write errors now so I can't transfer them.

I only have #10 and #11 transferred correctly. Where can I find the other disks?

#11 is in the zone.

thanks for uploading!

Edit: #9 has been modified. I remember this disk having a boot menu like the others. Unfortunately, my disk is unreadable.

Floppy disk Defjam CCS Compact 7 100%

I have taken the broken Compact 7 from the zone, replaced the broken Peter Beardsleys with a working copy (same filesize, just no error this time!), relabelled the disk from 4 to 7 and reorganised the disk clearing unused sectors to speed up loading and save 50kb. Check the zone!

PS: The "great" Peter Beardsley's WHDLoad installer works with the crack on this disk, just rename the game to "pb" to "play".

Exclamation Defjam/CCS Compact Disk 10 checkup

As I was just looking through some disks on the TOSEC set of compilations, I encountered a LOT of stuff modified without any good reason. And I'm sure it's the SAME dude that removed the other games.
Here's my report:
Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam-CCS).zip
100% OK and complete.
Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam-CCS)[a].zip
This one merely contains Quadralien. Disk renamed to "Quadralien".

Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam-CCS)[a2].zip
This one merely contains Virus. Disk renamed to "Virus".
NOTE: Virus is NOT part of Compact #10 at all, so this one definitely doesn't belong here!

Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam-CCS)[a3].zip
This one merely contains Vectorball. Disk renamed to "Vectorball".
Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam-CCS)[a4].zip
This one merely contains Fireblaster. Disk renamed to "Fireblaster".
Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam-CCS)[a5].zip
100% OK. Virtually the same as the very first one, only containing an additional .fastdir file, so this disk has obviously been tampered with by CLI-Mate.

[a] - [a4] are NOT compacts anymore, so TOSEC shouldn't rename them like this.

Interesting thread. I'll see if I have any extra stuff when I get home later tonight. But while on the subject of those #10 disks Andreas spoke of, I notice that the zipped filesize is still >800k for each disk. What this probably means is that the deleted files are still there (ready for undeleting or restoration via DiskSalv or something) and thus, the disk is compressed accordingly. Sigh...what a complete waste. If whoever did this even understood what he was attempting at all, he would have known how to clear the unused area from the disks. I haven't booted them up, but I wonder how they got named as DefJam/CCS compacts? Did the ninny leave the menu on the disks, too?

Yes, he did... confusing all users.
Those disk images are manipulated and should be erased from the net.

@andreas:
I downloaded from emuchina...
the [a5] image is the one without the .fastdir file.

I just uploaded #04 to the Zone. It includes Bone Cruncher, Bubble Bobble, Fred Feuerstein, Vampire's Empire. I remember playing Bone Cruncher way back in the day.

I may have one other one that is a demo/game mix compilation. I'll check and see.

@DPainter: Thanks for uploading #4.

@s4murai: Slaygon is working with Kick 1.2 / NoFastMem / one drive only.

Bubble Bobble on #4 requires Kick 1.2 (NOT 1.3) on a standard A500.

I'm still looking for #9 in its "original" form (with boot-menu) and for the missing ones, if they ever existed...

Arrow

A stab in the dark: they might have used some VERY old, maybe broken cruncher software which doesn't work with KS 1.3.

Oops.
Things happen ... just found a 100% working copy of Compact #7 and upped it!
Sorry for not finding it earlier!

I guess the files in the Zone expire, if anyone would be so kind as to resubmit the DefJam & CCS disks that would be great. I have #10 so far.

I uploaded all my Defjam compact disks in the zone (except #11)
If anybody has #9 with original bootsector or other Defjam compact disks, please consider an upload. I'm still trying to complete my collection. Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for the long File names, I didn't realize that there is no wordwrapping. The table in the zone is very wide now.

yeah I think the ones I downloaded of amiganostalgia.com were buggerd, no matter what Function key I smashed I only got the same game on the disk.
