What are your favourite Workbench hacks?
Pretty self-explanatory I would've thought. If you use hacks/patches on your Workbench what ones do you use and like most? My faves would be:
Magic Menu - for bringing up the pull-down menus anywhere on the screen Birdie - for putting nice patterns in window title bars Newicons - for nice colourful icons (obviously) I guess I mostly use cosmetic patches (other than Magic Menu which is very useful), but then Workbench is a bit dull otherwise isn't it? I wouldn't be without them. What ones do you like using (whether they are cosmetic or useful) and why? |

I also use Tools Daemon, Magic Menu and NoClick. Plus:
-Back & Front: Sends a window to the back or bring it to the front with defined actions. -Icon Appearer: Update icons when they are created/deleted/renamed -Taskbar: Adds a Windows-like taskbar plus a Start launch button -OutlineFont: Draws an outline on your Workbench icon text Last edited by alkis21; 16 September 2007 at 22:00. |

I use pretty much all of the above.
( + a few others - will have a look-see later ) + every speed-up hack / patch I can find in an attempt to fix the damage I've done! |

My favourite patch is Visual Prefs! I can make my Workbench look any way I want it to with that program, change every colour and all the button and sizes. And my second favourite is Magic Copper because it's the only program that can put rainbow colours in my background without crashing the computer.

My essential hacks are for the shell: KingKon (this is the daddy), pipe (Pipe-1.5.lha), and WBStart.lha (to start icons form shell).
Also useful for a nice workbench is toolsdeamon and reqtools, and IconAppearer.lha. |

Another favourite of mine is CycleToMenu for turning those horrible workbench cycle gadgets (where you click to cycle through choices) into a proper menu.
Other favourite hacks include Executive and Fblit/Ftext... more as I think of them I never thought MUI was particularly special, you have to have it installed though for those annoying programs that must have it! |
