When we left 6th form i lost my ‘contact’ for pirated copies, so from July 1993 onwards i had to actually buy games! Certainly wasn’t a full price game at first, i did buy a few budget releases of games i never had copies of, Prince of Persia and Stunt Car Racer were iirc a couple of the first games i bought.

First Amiga game purchase was Dungeon Master - picked it up at a mall in the US in late 1990 _before_ i technically owned an Amiga. Bought it based on nothing but the box art/screenshots and the promise of "stereo sound!" (coming from the C128, that was a kind of big deal lol). I'd ordered my Amiga 500 kit (with trapdoor RAM, second floppy and monitor) a few days before but it would be another two weeks or so before it arrived. Stared at the box on the shelf the whole time dreaming of what it would be like to play it...and reality _exceeded_ my expectations (for once). The other guys in my dorm suite and I played it straight through to the end the week the machine arrived...great fun.

Marble Madness. Daddy bought it together with our A1000.

I might have answered this already, but I went on a school trip to Belfast, I picked up Lotus 1 and couldn't wait to play.
I got back home after midnight, my folks were asleep and I fired up Lotus 1. The thundering intro sound woke up everyone in the house and I was told to shut everything down. I did that but after 30 mins or so fired up the Amiga and Lotus 1 again(with low volume) and played until 4am. I couldn't believe how brilliant it was as a racer on the Amiga. |

Man to start with Lotus. That sets the bar high.
