shovelware diggers
A friend notified me of this awesome youtube series where they hunt down and try to boot up just any old shovelware created a long time ago to see what it is all about - and how bad or terrible it is. (And sometimes: actually good).

I only watched awful gameplays. The time people have to actually create videos of those bad games...

It's good business. I mean... good games I like to play, bad games I like to watch others play / review, mostly for their reactions to it. I've already spotted quite some "gems", between quotes because usually that still means the game is something awful. The dragon hunting game in the very first episode for example was quite fascinating. It's like the design of the game is to make it feel like you're doing bureaucratic work.

Yes, watch this quite a bit but a lot of the games reviewed are not of interest to me. When you get into asci characters, it is mostly getting too old for my taste. Now games like Hugo's House of Horrors or others of that type are right up my alley.

But Hugo isn't shovelware, it's commercially sold to this day. You can get it on GoG for the competitive price of around 6 bucks.

I loved the bomb defusing game. Pick wires at random, win or lose...

Nothing like "Keep talking and nobody explodes" which in my opinion should be the start, middle and finish of every team building session. Genius.

Thanks for that. Just what I like.
Bob's Dragon Hunt had some seriously deep gameplay. > cast spell > which book? > which page? > which spell? absolutely no information. |
