Whilst I can and do feel sympathy for any employees (the people that truly lose) at such times, it's not Commodore, is it?
It's rather a shame to see the old names get dragged down like this... Still, I think the good memories are stronger than anything that could come from the tenuous links to a name. The daft attempts to live off (or start from) an earlier brand identity can't sully the delights of the many good years. Until we're too far gone to remember, those memories are ours. |

the best that could happen now could be a big company buy commodore and amiga inc and buy the natami project (for me the project the more near of a real next generation amiga) and we could have tha new amiga code name natami from commodore, that could be incredible but will surely never happen. And with a design like the amiga 1200 with blueray disk writer instead of diskette (i'm dreaming once again)

@Turrican
sorry to confuse... I was saying in "LOLCAT" speak (ask Shoonay he knows) about my thoughts towards a company with the name of commodore going yet again bankrupt. hence i have apathy simply because the only REAL product (the gravis) was an absolute DIRE invention of a media player!! absolutely pitiful! anyway... even the commodore in its day was a loathsome beast, they screwed the Amiga for years and on the back of some great work on the C64 did they make thier mark, intruth they weren't even good manufactures of type writers. so CBM is / was and always has been crap. the C64 and Amiga will always have a place in my heart |

Damn. And I just bought 2 C64's. I wonder if I will still get support for them.
I tend to agree with andy. It is a shame to see the once mighty Commodore name being dragged through the mud again. I hope the employees get everything they are entitled to. However, as long as emulators like WinUAE and WinVICE exist tho, the memories will remain |

The word Commodore preceding the title of a Computer system used to have my ears pricked up and a seething rush of passion flowing through my veins!
But now its just a seething rush of disappointment in with all my naivety and tunnel vision of what Commodore was completely gone and seeing them for what they really are now, which is just a complete bunch of fuck ups that took a good thing and fucked it in the bum. The irony here is that the Car i drive is called a Commodore!! .. lol.... |

Someone should start a company called 'Commander' and release a computer called 'Commander Omega' :P
Seriously tho, the Commodore name got bought the last time because the brand name is worth money, and still is. So the same thing will happen again, let's hope someone with a desire to use it (for anything - watches, mp3 players, joypads) buys it. Commodore is a name that I associate with luxury, and I'm sure someone could come up with a simple, attractive product for retro nuts like me. |

@Photon
lets not talk about the Commodore Gravel as with all things CBM has reach a new low every time it gets sold.... its worth is nothing, which is a shame because despite the products and its media output, I am sure there are some talented people that work for the company... |
