Sounds good. certainly not a torrent I have seen floating round B4. Notice there is another one that has popped up on Demonoid, but no seeders at the moment.

@TCD Downloaded the same torrent. Looks good. Contains a lot of magazine cover discs amongst everything else, I have imaged the collection of coverdiscs I have, so this should fill in some of the gaps.

Will keep everyone posted on the coverdisc progress once I have moved.

Once again, good find though, keep it up.

Have had a look through WHDLoad and a bit confused. Looks like it just patches on the fly when you load the ipf into it. So it looks like he is writing a patching script for every piece of software, to HD install it.

So, is this not just the same as patching/cracking anyway?

Hi,
I'd love to get my hands on this stuff - for hosting & to add to my archive.

I've even got a server to put it on, um - nearly!

I upgraded / modded my Qube2 server for the purpose of having a better retro-environment in which to host a bunch of stuff like this...
...it's done, but has been languishing for months without an OS installed on it.

I'd happily do the hosting but have to issue some warnings:
-It will take me at least until the end of next weekend to get the thing up.
-I'm notoriously bad for getting my bum in gear & finishing things...
...are you reading TC?

Aye my friend I would be happy to upload the stuff once you got the server up (hope this is a bit of extra motivation to get it done ). Guess Mark will chime in and add to the pressure
So no worries, I won't delete it and upload it as soon as you are ready Charlie

There a TOSEC set. Some of them are interesting for the fact they have been patched for HD installation, but in general most of them dont work due to copy protection.

They are certainly always of interest. Alot of those titles are freeware and would have come on coverdiscs.

Thanks Retro The CD Applications and Coverdisc downloads seem to be the same as the torrent, but the disk based sets are interesting

Hi TCD,

Has a home been found for these files yet? I'm interested in the Acorn User Collector's CD-ROM images (I have the StrongARM CD-ROM already).

Thanks,

Hey, that was a quick reply!

I can't get them from PD, as that's one place where I don't have an account. Plus, I don't want the whole archive; I only need about 1GB, and you can't be selective with torrents, unfortunately.

Guess I'll just have to wait for Charlie to get his server set up.

Thanks anyway,

You can join PD anytime (no invite necessary) and be selective with torrents You can choose which files you want to download from a torrent, so grabbing only the Acorn User Collector's CD-ROMs would be no problem Maybe you should give that a try

Hey, I didn't know you could do that!

I suppose I'd need a new client (I use Bittorrent). Any hints, please?
