AGA emulator

I remember seeing an app back in the day called AGA Emulator in the PD listings - I assume it was for RTG.

Didn't read it all but it is about the above mentioned tool and similar stuff.
In a nutshell, its a hoax/joke and said to be impossible at reasonable speed.

Soft AGA does seem to be a hoax - I thought it might have been possible to use system friendly AGA apps on RTG with some kind of app.

Under 3.1, if you're using RTG, _application_ software (and a very few Workbench-friendly games like MegaBall) will generally work in "AGA" mode (at least that's the way I remember it under Picasso).

The "Soft AGA" that I remember was for the A500. If I remember correctly, the readme stated that they had "burned out 3 A500's getting this to work but, we have finally done it"

"System friendly" AGA apps should already work under RTG using nothing more than the built-in mode promotion functionality of the OS. If it requires the chipset directly, it isn't system friendly.

Emulating certain functionality of the hardware would be possible, but very slow on a classic and probably wouldn't work at all for non-system-friendly games either, so it was never going to be a thing at that time.
