Hi all, just to say that I've not used the the rc or rc2 firmware as yet but will do!
I have only built rev2 boards for 500's only & never had any problems with -TIN type memory from rs component's, I am sorry if this has been covered already.

@Plasmab loving the update's, I just can't thank you enough for all of this, & can't wait for more updates!

I have a HP1661CS sitting in UK customs waiting to move on to me. My plan is to find a way to get a composite signal out of it (hackery) and then show the 96 channel logic analyser + scope output on my stream.

Terrible Fire Accelerators

I’ve grabbed a Sata to IDE converter with the same chip as I have on the 533S and have been trying to get it to work on a standard 530. Was unable to read the Drive ID the usual way and no matter what I do it doesn’t auto mount the partitions ...

Anything obvious?

EDIT: my best guess from the diagnosis is that the drive isn’t showing an internal interrupt when poked.. I.e one of its status bits hasn’t flipped. Kickstart uses this as one of the tests to detect a drive.

as much i know, HDToolBox has a bug, it can't read drive id properly even from IDE device, so, just ignore it, press ok, move forward and try to make any partitions on the drive, then save and reboot from foloppy..

Sorry you missed the problem. I’ve made the partitions and they persist... Kickstart can’t see them or mount them.

EDIT: also ESM doesn’t see them

I have no way to test. The issue is the interrupt register is saying no interrupt pending ever. But when brute forced I can read the drive.

I updated the wiki with the working RAM from RS yesterday.

I have tried 2 IDE - Sata bridges.

First one is the single port you get from Elbox, it has the JM20330 Chip.

The other is a dual Sata port one from StarTech. It's a dual Chip and looks like it reads:
SunplusIT
SATALink TM
SPIF223A-HL 022

Looks like it's listed as an LCD driver on AliExpress?
SPIF223A-HL022 QFP-64 LCD driver board chip --CSYXKJ
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/SPIF...459297250.html

Both boards boot into Workbench once the HDD is setup.
The pic is the drive read on the StarTech adapter.

Edit:
I have found another Elbox Sata Bridge that does not work at all.

I also have a dual port bridge with a single JM20330 on it, but as soon as you plug a second Sata cable in the system wont boot and the activity LED on the board stays lit, this happens even without a drive plugged in.

I have also tried the StarTech bridge with two drives plugged in and appears to work fine.

If you check post number 1345, you'll notice that I also confirmed that the Marvell 88SA8052 chip also works.

Hi Plasmab sorry if you have already tried supplying both voltages with jm ic on TF534 on the chip at the same time 3.3 & 1.8,.... did you get any response from the jm sata ic via uart at all on the TF534 when you tried. I am sorry for my post Please forgive me! once again!

You are trying the JM20330 Aren't you?

Might be worth trying another?
I got one with my FastATA 1200 MK-V CF/SATA and the other with my FastATA 4000 MK-VII CF/SATA
One works the other doesn't from new.

That dual port JM20330 only works if one Sata lead is plugged in, if both are plugged in regardless if a drive is attached or not the system hangs.

Either they are crappy bridges or quite flakey on working?

The JM20330 is single port. There is only one SATA port on it.

Must be a fake dual port, like I say doesn't work with two cables.

Thats not a dual port adapter. The chip is bidirectional... one port is meant for use a host, one as a slave... manual will tell you that.

Sorry to hear. Did you reuse the case last time? If so, make sure those USB ports aren’t shorting or something silly.

If not, well damn.
