Indivision AGA (A1200 ONLY) Popping off (Solution)

We have had people ask us to do a tutorial on how to solve this.

I didnt see the point on going nuts with pictures, but I'll explain, as its easy enough.

Items required
--------------
Indivision AGA (A1200)
Sheet of Sand Paper (emery cloth, or what ever you want to call it)
Flat surface

A NON Commodore LISA CHIP (CBM LISA CHIP, doesnt require this mod)
A File (rasp) - (Needed if you have a resistor in the way of the LISA connector)

Instructions
------------

Place the Sand Paper on the flat surface, with rough side facing up, .

Next take your indivision and place the LISA connector on to the sand paper.

Now, start moving the connector back and fore against the sand paper.

IMPORTANT: Keep checking every couple of seconds. As we need to sand the connector until, theres about 1 millimeter of plastic between, the bottom of the LISA connector and the connector pins.

Failiure to keep to the 1 millimeter will cause damage to the pins. If you connect the indivision with damaged pins, it could cause the pins to snap off completely (you could end up with a video problem or worse a short circuit). The LISA connector would then need to be replaced.

Jens has already sorted this problem for the new indivision batches. This Tutorial is only for people having the popping off problem.

Once you have sanded the LISA connector as stated above, it should look like the attached pictures.

On some boards there is a resistor, that can obstruct the LISA connector. If you have such a board, you will need to also file the edge where the LISA connector is hitting the resistor.

If your completely happy with it and its all working fine. You can then glue it into place with some Hot Glue, or as Novacoder suguested non-corrosive silicon.

Disclaimer

-----------
As with all electronic devices, you should take ElectroStatic Precautions.

If you make a mistake and damage your Indivision board (i.e. damaged / broken pins), Myself or amigakit.com can not be held responsible

Cool, glad somebody did a tutorial for this issue. It's probably worth mentioning that only non-CBM Lisa's *may* require this mod. You should also make sure that you really need to do this mod (i.e. check that you are using enough force to firmly mount the Indivision and that your contacts are nice and clean).

I'd also recommend a couple of dabs of hot glue to hold in all in place (after you've confirmed it's working of course!).

I used a couple of dabs of Araldite to hold mine in place. Just as well I don't ever want to take it off!

Well I didnt mention Araldite for that reason. Hot Glue is great, as its tough and can be pulled off easly if required.

I thank my lucky stars that my Indivision fit and worked straight away. Honestly, I couldn't believe it because I've got lousy luck when it comes to such things. I always seem to be jumping through hoops.

I have an Indivision from the very first batch. It was originally on my 1D1 mobo which had the CBM Lisa, all was well.
That mobo recently died and i brought a 2B into service. It has an HP Lisa.
My Indivision fits perfectly on the new mobo with no image quality issues.
