The Best Trainer Ever!

Some time ago I put a thread concerning the worst Amiga game trainer ever.

Now I would like to know what is the BEST trainer ever across to you. This would be fun to know because I just love really good trainers!

My choice is PINBALL DREAMS and Anthrox's modest "mass production" trainer. The reason to this is a marvelous idea to let the gamer to choose the amount of balls! How brilliant is that!

Who wants to play with unlimited balls!!?? No way to achieve high scores, just boring endless play. It's more fun to choose say 10 balls and play with your friend (or with a girliefriend ) and take a good competition!

I hope there would have been more these kind of innovative trainers. For example SILK WORM with a trainer to choose the amount of your lives ( maybe 3-4 moore to default) so you would pass the game, but with hard trying!

Every trainer is a good trainer
I played so many Amiga games with trainers and now I can't think of one that has a special or unique feature

I have never used a trainer in my life. I don't like cheating. I think the game should be played as the designer designed it. If it's too hard, then A. You suck. B.The game sucks.

Most of the time it's A for me
I'm just too impatient to get into some games, so I use the trainer and play through them to see the levels and the ending. It's of course much more fun to play them without a trainer

I don't care for the ending... unless I actually played the whole game without cheating... after all the purpose of the game is to be played... and not to show the end...hehe.

Alright, alright, you got me. I think I watch too much movies and have to see the villain slain and the princess rescued
However, I really can't think of another reason to use a trainer (besides adjusting the difficulty when not selecting unlimited lives/energy).

Actually, my version of Streetfighter 2 WHDLoad allows you to play as characters you cannot select normally.

THIS.

Okay, I used the "ten pints"-cheat for Beast 2 and needed a guide for the last quarter of Maniac Mansion - but that's about it.

I broadly agree, however I would say if you get completely stuck, using a cheat or a guide of whatever to get further is a better alternative than simply never playing the game again.

^^^

Used a walk through for Another World to get past a tricky bit once. Never bothered with trainers.

Few cheats were used for 2 player games. If I remember rightly one for Supercars 2 to allow all weapons available for selection.

Not to cuss them though as some had great music

I used trainers/walkthroughs to play games because:

1. I don't have a lot of time to explore every bit of the game
2. Even if I have enough time, I rather play 2 games instead of 1
3. I suck at most of the games (except strategy games)

Since I use emulators, instead of trainers I rather use 'save state'. Takes less time to finally beat game as it was intended and then save your progress.

I don't have favorite trainer.

No, there is no code involved, but when I installed it, I did it as real files not disk images, so by renaming certain files means you can play as a character you cannot select.
