2nd CF card Max Transfer

Hi, I have added a second CF card via the IDE cable, with the new one inside 4gb as a slave and one outside with Amigakit adapter as my master which is 8gb. The slave was easy to set up and appears to work fine, but I just realized I never changed the max transfer, will I need to do this for this new slave drive?

Ohh, and I now have the Happy new year 96 virus! Cheers virus writer.. More pain..

Yes any CF Card or HDD connected to Amiga IDE needs to max transfer changing to 0x1FE00

Don't worry if you forgot to do at prep time, you can safely change it now.

Just note that files written to or copied from that CF before might be corrupt.

OK, thanks I will update the drive later. I only copied a few unimportant files to test the drive was working last night and just thought about this earlier today.

Thanks

What is the purpose of setting max transfer for IDE HD on the Amiga?

I did not manually set mine and let an auto install do the legwork, and everything appears to be working fine.

Never mind I seem to have found a thread that explains it quite nicely.

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=45491

And also gives the reason why I'm not having any issues. The need to set max transfer apparently lies in scsi.device, but I am using ExpSys.device instead.
