By the way : If you try to use a A500 on a bench in the park you might encounter some problems...

Obviously, I meant for its time. The Amiga was much more powerful for its time, than that horribly ugly desktop pc in the original post.

You can get rather powerful laptops, but with laptops you pay more than for what you get.

Apples and oranges, to be honest.

Back in the day a friend of mine had an A2000 iirc, I envied that separate keyboard of hers for years, now I want an all in one again.

OT: ZOMG P-J sighting!!! Hey P-J

It's always cool to see different styles of PCs / old styles coming into fashion But yeah, these don't have much on laptops. Hate the touchpad beneath the too steeply slanting keyboard, looks very unergonomic.

Now, a full-size keyboard with only alphanum keys without touchpad and roughly the same specs...

What about this prehistoric thing, one of the early laptops that would crush your legs while using. Personally I could never work out why people would get one of these instead of an Amiga, surely it couldn't be because it had it's own 6" screen could it

Once folded up into it's very small, ahem, I mean large clunky case you could use it as a weapon to stop thugs from stealing it, not that anybody would want to steal this.

Another thing, It could only use DOS, no windows, no mouse, pretty basic compared to the beloved Amiga, I know exactly which one I would of chose given the chance, Amiga wins hands down

I'm sure you could play "the house" on the Amstrad and be all smiles?

A600 style PC

This one is new to me.

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/03...e_pc_cybernet/

Apparently you can fit a quad core in there.

This is old news. More the size of an A1200 than an A600.

It's basically just a laptop in a desktop case without the screen.

I was just going to say that. Hardly A600 either as it has a keypad. More A1200

The A600 and A1200 (and C64C too) looked awesome....the A500 looked a bit naff....like someone left a C128 on the fire and it melted Well at least Commodore improved, Atari went backwards. The original ST was a beautiful design the 520STE STFM was not so good, like a wood carving! haha

That machine looks damned ugly though, the keyboard isn't even a decent one it is a flat crappy laptop keyboard FAIL!
