Shadow of the Beast III - Crashing...

Hello all,

Don't know if anybody else has tried this. After selecting Start Game I've tried to load the stage "Fort Dourmoor". The picture of the old man's face is displayed, the game loads for a while and then crashes.

I've tried all the .adf version I can find but they all do the same thing. I've also tried various different settings / configurations but no improvement...

Does anybody know if this is a proplem with all the versions of the .adf files or is are there some settings / configurations that I need to use to correct this.

Clear and comprehensive description ... everyone should do it that way, but well ...

First of all, I found a few renaming errors with this game, due to some unusual naming of disk numbers. With the SKID ROW crack, there are three disks involved, not two, and you can either boot from Disk 0 (intro) or Disk 1 (game #1)! (the unnamed disk is the intro disk (1/3), one is labelled DISK 1 (2/3; referred as "GAME DISK 1" in the game), and one is labelled DISK 2 (3/3; referred as "BEAST DISK 2")).
The trained versions merely consist of TWO disks, with the trainer installed on "Disk 1" (and not 0) and hence there is no intro at all.
There is no way known to me to play this game with trainer AND full intro.

I cannot deny that this game is extremely hard to get working on current versions. Toni??
I've upped a complete three-disk set to the zone, and everything was working before, but now I get the very same crashes, even in cycle-exact mode on latest beta version

Thank you so much Andreas. I've gone to The Zone! and downloaded the untrained version that you uploaded.

Andreas, the Beast 3 disks you uploaded to The Zone! worked perfectly. Thank you.

I tried a few things from home last night just to see if I could get the trained version working by disk juggling:

1. Booted with Andreas's "Shadow of the Beast III (1992)(Psygnosis)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr SKR].adf", loaded the stage "Fort Dourmoor", and when it asked for Disk 2 I inserted the trained version "Shadow of the Beast II (1990)(Psygnosis)[cr Angels][t +2 TWF](Disk 2 of 3).adf"... The level loaded fine, I killed all my men, it went through the death sequence and the back to the Start Game screen fine...

This is funny as it shows that the trained version (Disk 2 of 3) works fine...

2. Booted with the trained version "Shadow of the Beast II (1990)(Psygnosis)[cr Angels][t +2 TWF](Disk 1 of 3).adf", loaded the stage "Fort Dourmoor", and when it asked for Disk 2 I inserted the Andreas's "Shadow of the Beast III (1992)(Psygnosis)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr SKR][a2].adf"... This crashed...

Must definilety be a problem when you load with the trained version (Disk 1 of 3)...

Anyway.

Found a cheat for this game that gives invincibility:

On the title screen, type "DADDY DRAW THIS FOR ME" and press 'RETURN'. The shurikan should turn to a smiley face with letters under it.

During the game use the 'RIGHT CURSOR' key for invincibility and the 'LEFT CURSOR' key to go back to normal.
